Zoom MeetingsToday, we're proud to bring a Blur Background option to your meetings and webinars. This option can be selected on the desktop under the “choose virtual background” menu from the “start video” icon in your Zoom Meeting.
While setting up the audio and video before a video call, click on the Background effects tab. All the background options will show up at the right side of the screen. Here you can either choose a new background or simply Blur it by selecting the blur background option.
If you want to alter your background after having already joined a meeting, click on your meeting controls, and tap More Actions > Show background effects. Once again, you'll have the option to blur your background or choose an image to replace your office entirely.
How to change your Microsoft Teams background
- To update your background before joining or starting a Teams meeting, navigate to Background effects.
- Either select Blur to blur your background, or choose from the available images to replace it.
- You'll be able to preview your background to see how it looks.
Google's Pixel 2 smartphones allow you to use software to create the dual camera effect. You simply open the camera > tap menu > select “portrait” option > take your picture > tap the thumbnail to select the image you just captured > Google automatically adds the blur background effect to the image.
Sign in to Zoom desktop client. Click Settings. Select Virtual Background .
- To disable Virtual Background, open the virtual background options again and choose the option None.
- Ensure that you are using a solid background color.
- After you select an option, that virtual background will be used for your future meetings.
To enable this new layout, click the “…” icon at the top-right of a Teams meeting. From the menu which appears, choose “Large gallery” to enable expanded participant support. With this mode selected, Teams will display up to 49 participants in a 7x7 grid on your display.
Unlike Slack, Teams doesn't support custom themes, but you can switch the Teams app over to a dark theme if you're looking for something different. The process is the same across MacOS and Windows. To get started, just tap your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.
Press the CTRL+Shift+P combination. If things go blurry, during your video call, you know that your PC has this feature. The second option is to start your video from a meeting. Then, click on the Ellipsis icon from the meeting options and choose Blur My Background.
Blurring photos on AndroidStep 1: Click the large Portrait button. Step 2: Grant permission to access photos, then select the photo you wish to alter. Step 3: Click the Focus button to blur the background automatically. Step 4: Click the Blur Level button; adjust the slider to your desired strength, then click Back.
Teams offers a convenient way to disable all incoming video with just a couple of clicks! Simply click the “More” option (represented by three dots, circled in the first image) and then the “Turn Off Incoming Video” option that appears in the menu (second image.)
The meeting controls panel in older versions of Teams is found within the bottom portion of the meeting video window. Please NOTE: Some advanced features are not available or have limited functionality when joining a Teams meeting on the web.
To blur your background during a video call, select the Start video with blur option when you join a call or the Blur my background option from the […] meeting menu.

Restart Computer' If you don't see the background blur option or it doesn't work properly, restart your PC once. Then try again. You should also try closing the Google Meet tab in your browser.

Improve quality of a Teams screen-shared video?

Here's how you can get the most out of it.
- Visit Teams settings and switch your webcam input to an external webcam if your built-in webcam isn't good enough.
- Test your webcam quality with a test call before joining and important meeting.
- Turn off your webcam when it's not needed.
Here is how you do that: Open the Teams desktop app in advance if you are not using your phone for the meeting. Click your name, which appears in the upper right-hand corner. Choose settings, which is represented by a gear icon. A pop-up should appear in the Settings menu.
The cause of this issue lies in the way Outlook on Windows handles your image in combination with its dpi value. Outlook will rescale the image as if it was a 96 dpi image. Upon sending, Outlook will convert and compress (re-render) the images to 96 dpi with the new dimensions.
To make a test call, select your profile picture, then Settings > Devices. Choose Make a test call under Audio devices. In a test call, you'll see how your mic, speaker, and camera are working. Follow the instructions from Test Call Bot and record a short message.
How to adjust the font?
- Log into your team account.
- In the menu select 'Teams'.
- Click on 'Advanced'.
- Select your preferred font family.
- Click 'Save'.
