FR means. FReezing. FilteR is dirty. FReon is low charge. FR error is not normal.
From Technical Support Wiki. When the indoor unit displays an P4 error on temperature indicator, it means there is an inverter compressor drive error.
Go Back. It stands for Intelligent Power Module. An IPM is a module product, based on a 3-phase inverter circuit with a control IC that contains a gate driving circuit and other protection circuits. This product makes it easier to design peripheral circuits than conventional IGBT modules with external driver circuits.
Press the clock button located on the right side of the RC's front panel. Make sure that the “Timer ON†is showing on the LCD screen. Afterward, press the temp UP or Down arrow key to set the time. For example, if you want to turn on your aircon after 6 hours.Aug 10, 2021
1.Troubleshoot the problem yourself.
- Check the thermostat batteries. They might be dead.
- Reset the circuit breaker. Head over to the breaker box and see if any of the breakers have tripped.
- Check for ice on the coil. The system can shut off if airflow is so restricted that ice forms on the AC coil.
Troubleshooting A P1 or P4 Error CodeWhen you see a P1 or P4 error code, first turn the unit off. Then turn it back on after two minutes. If the problem persists, go to the outdoor unit. Take off the side wiring cover with a screwdriver.
The Generic Approach
- Turn off the air conditioner and unplug it.
- Hold down the power button, and keep it depressed while you or someone else plugs it back in. Keep the button depressed while the fan and condenser cycle run briefly and cycle off again.
- Unplug the air conditioner again and plug it back in.
CF stands for "Change Filter". Your unit requires to change the filter which is located on the bottom of the unit.
With Mitsubishi Electric's advanced technology, your Mr. Slim system can extract heat, even when temperatures fall as low as -25ºC. That's why only a Mr. Slim heat pump is the true evolution in year-round comfort, even in some of Canada's toughest climates.
Perhaps the most common cause of AC issues is clogged filters. Dirt, pet hair, pollen and dust can clog your filters. When filters get clogged, they begin to restrict the flow of air through your AC. The result is that the AC doesn't cool your indoor air effectively.
Carrier Air Conditioner WarrantyCarrier offers a 10-year parts limited warranty for Infinity, Performance, and Comfort series air conditioners that utilize Puron refrigerant.
The main causes of air conditioner heating problems with reverse cycle systems are: Ice building up. Clogged air conditioner filters and coils. Circuit breaker and fuse malfunctions.
Solved! What to Do If Your AC Stops Cooling
- Check the thermostat.
- Replace a dirty filter.
- Clear a clogged condensation drain.
- Discern a duct malfunction.
- Clear the compressor area.
- Get serious with dirty coils.
- Know when to call the HVAC pro.
Turning on the auto mode in your air conditioner simply means that the unit's fan is only going to start running when it needs to either cool or heat the room to your desired temperature. To make this happen, the fan will use varying speeds to give you the closest cooling or heating effect that you want to have.
A jammed or clogged condenser coil could be the cause of your air conditioner running but not dropping temperatures inside. The condenser fan pulls air into the outside device through the condenser coil to extract heat energy from your home while it's working properly.
The reason behind your air conditioner turning on and off repeatedly could be as simple as a dirty air filter. A dirty air filter can restrict airflow into your air conditioner, to the point where the evaporator coils freeze up. This would cause the unit to shut off prematurely. Take a look at your air filter.
In sleep mode, the aircon unit will regulate the temperature of the room and increase the temperature by 0.5- 1 degrees Celsius in an hour, up to a maximum of 3 degrees Celsius per hour. This setting ensures the aircon unit keeps you cool and comfortable throughout the night.
Issues that can lead to a frozen evaporator coil include: Excessive buildup of dust, dirt or other pollutants on the evaporator coil. Excessively dirty or clogged air filter. Excessive buildup of dust, dirt or debris on the outdoor condensing unit.
Carrier AC Indoor Unit Displays Error Code: P6. Error Code Definition: (Unit Size 18K – 24K – 30K) = NA. Error Code Definition: (Unit Size 36K – 42K) = Communication error between the inverter drive and main board.
P6: This error code shows up only when there is an issue with the discharge temperature overheat protection. P7: This error code shows up only when there is an issue with the cooling indoor coil anti freezing protection.
You can temporarily fix this by turning off the air conditioning unit from the power supply at the circuit breaker. Leaving it off for 10 minutes and turning it back on. Now turn on the air conditioning unit. If the error code re-appears, switch off the unit as it will cause further damage.
The E3 error code displays when an Abnormal Operation Protection Error has occurred, and activates to protect the unit from damage. This error code will require service.
CODE: F5. RESULT: No E Indoor unit coil outlet temperature sensor or connector of sensor is defective.
