Whether “rockabilly” or “rock 'n' roll” LPs like these that were made in the 1950s are now quite rare and valuable. Many have values that exceed $100. Some sell for $1000 or more. Most “Fans” LPs made after 1970 sell for $10 or more and some made before 1970 sell for $100+.
Rock and roll and R&B 45s with the cardboard sleeves are worth at least $20, with many being worth more than $200. First pressings of albums have more value than second, third, or subsequent pressings. They are referred to as the “originals” that were purchased when the record first hit the charts.
A gatefold cover or gatefold LP is a form of packaging for LP records which became popular in the mid-1960s. The larger gatefold cover provided a means of including artwork, liner notes, and/or song lyrics which would otherwise not have fit on a standard record cover.
Putting a precise value on anything is almost impossible. An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. But given the original first pressing of Bruce Springsteen's second single has never (ever) been sold on Discogs and it's only owned, says the website, by two people, it's definitely worth a lot.

“The early blues material from the '20s and '30s is the hottest material of all,” Mr. Tefteller said in a phone interview. He said that on average a rare jazz 78 might sell for $1,500 to $5,000, whereas sales for a comparable blues record would start at $5,000.
One album, 6 labels. One is worth $10; one is worth $10,000! A significant factor in determining a vinyl record's value is the label on the record itself. A given album or single might have been released with several different labels on the disc itself, even among releases by the same record company.

A rare Motown seven inch single has fetched a world record price of £25,742 after its seller Kenny Burrell, from Fife, put it up for auction. The copy of unreleased 1965 single Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) by Frank Wilson is one of only two in the world.
Wilson died on September 27, 2012 in Duarte, California after a long battle with prostate cancer, he was 71 years old.
Is Frank Wilson still alive?
As an recording artist, Wilson only ever released one single. However, 1965's 'Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)' became a cult Northern Soul track. Only 250 copies of the 7″ vinyl record were pressed and most of them were destroyed when Wilson decided he wanted to focus on writing and producing.
Frank John Wilson (May 19, 1887 – June 22, 1970) was best known as the Chief of the United States Secret Service and a former agent of the Treasury Department's Bureau of Internal Revenue, later known as the Internal Revenue Service.
Northern Soul attire for the ladies evolved from mod A-line skirts to include ankle- length circle skirts, vests, patterned slim fit shirts, platform shoes and knitted tanks teamed with classic bowling bags adorned with Northern Soul patches.
a pure soul is someone whose intentions are honest. it is someone who does things for the joy of doing them, not for merit or status. it is a soul whose decisions come from within, from what that soul believes to be good/right, instead of for attention or for glory.
Is Northern Soul a genre?

The crowd refused to leave; according to Winstanley, to "break this spell of hysteria", he picked a 7" at random from his box and played that. This final Wigan Casino song became one of the most famous Northern soul songs of all time, Frank Wilson's "Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)".
Motown Records tended to produce pop-crossover songs that were and are still popular with both black and white audiences. Soul music is a slower variant of R&B music, much influenced by Gospel music. Soul features dramatic arrangements and very-melismatic vocals. Motown is the nickname of Detroit, Michigan.
Northern Soul: Keep the Faith (BBC2) was a passionate overview of a subculture that is regularly passed over in British music history. Punks have stamped their identity all over the 70s, despite only having a mainstream impact towards the end.

Elvis records don't tend to sell for much, given that most teenagers in 1950s America bought them by the bucketload. However, certain records are worth a pretty penny, and a fair few feature in our ranking. Have a look out for mono copies of the King's debut album. These can sell for up to $500 (£425).
Elvis' 1961 classic Can't Help Falling in Love sold over a million copies in the US, and the standard 45 rpm singles are ten a penny. The limited edition 33 rpm singles on the other hand are worth a fortune. The hula cover version is most valuable, realizing up to $4,000 at auction.
Get the most value out of your vinyl records by selling directly to collectors on Discogs. Discogs holds information on nearly 6 million vinyl record releases. It's also a vibrant marketplace, where collectors from around the world buy and sell records.
Production costs have gone up because vinyl releases in general are pressed in smaller quantities. A non mainstream release is hardly pressed in 1,000 copies these days, more like 300.
