The Panthers' undefeated streak came to an end at the hands of the Falcons in a Week 16 rematch. A week later, however, Carolina routed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to finish 15–1, giving the Panthers home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
A lot goes into winning or losing any football game, but the big reason why Carolina's rebounded so well is its defense. Giving up a lot of yards after the catch is a back-breaker for any NFL defense. They've done a good job of avoiding that so far. Carolina has allowed just 2.7 yards after catch per pass on average.

The first Super Bowl, which featured the AFL and NFL champions, took place in 1966. The game was originally called the “AFL-NFL World Championship Game,” which wasn't exactly catchy. The AFL Kansas City Chief's owner, Lamar Hunt, proposed using the term “Super Bowl” to refer to the championship game.
Using the number 50 was found to be much more appealing than an L, on many levels, from the negativity associated with losing to the aesthetic challenges posed by using the letter. So this year, and this year only, the Super Bowl will use more traditional numbering.
In Super Bowl 50, Newton was sacked six times, hit 13, and completed just 18 of his 41 pass attempts.
