To start a check of the spelling and grammar in your file just press F7 or follow these steps:
- Open most Office programs, click the Review tab on the ribbon.
- Click Spelling or Spelling & Grammar.
- If the program finds spelling mistakes, a dialog box appears with the first misspelled word found by the spelling checker.
Save As. Use the shortcut F12 to display the Save As dialog box in Excel. Press CTRL + s to save an existing workbook. It's good practice to periodically save while you are working on your Excel file.
Method 1: Set Document Language
Open a document in Word for Mac. On the Tools menu, click Language. Select the language dictionary you want the speller to use, such as English (US). Uncheck Do not check spelling or grammar, and then click OK.Commonly used to spell check and grammar check a document in Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc. Shift+F7 runs a Thesaurus check on the word highlighted.
Enable and Disable the Android Spell Checker
Go to Settings. Tap System > Languages & input > Advanced. Underneath Languages & input, you'll see the name of the default keyboard (in this case Gboard). Tap Spell checker.Set a system-wide option to correct spelling automatically in all apps that support it: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard, then click Text. Select the option to "Correct spelling automatically." All incorrect words are corrected as you type.
Access the AutoCorrect settings
- 1) Open Word on your Mac.
- 2) Click Word from your menu bar.
- 3) Select Preferences.
- 4) Click AutoCorrect in the pop-up window.
To turn off spelling and grammar checking, choose Word→Preferences and click the Spelling and Grammar icon. In the Grammar and Spelling preference pane, deselect the Check Spelling As You Type or Check Grammar As You Type check box to turn off automatic spelling or grammar checking.
Add a language
- Open an Office program, such as Word.
- Click File > Options > Language.
- In the Set the Office Language Preferences dialog box, under Choose Editing Languages, select the editing language that you want to add from the Add additional editing languages list, and then click Add.
You can add words to the dictionary so Docs doesn't identify them as misspelled.
- Open a document in Google Docs.
- In the top left, click Spell Check. . A box will open in the top right corner.
- To add a word that appears in the spell checker to the dictionary, click Add to dictionary.
To bring up the “Spelling and Grammar” panel in a compatible Mac app, just use the keyboard shortcut Command+Shift+: (yes, colon/semi-colon).
Turn on auto-correction on your device:
- On iPhone or iPad, open a document in Pages, Numbers, or Keynote, tap the More button , then tap Auto-Correction.
- On Mac, in Pages, Numbers, or Keynote choose [app name] > Preferences from the menu bar, then choose Auto-Correction.
Use the Command Key
There are two ways to copy/paste, first is by selecting the file and using Command+C to copy, then Command+V to paste where you want the copy to be.Autocorrect in Pages for Mac is disabled through an app-specific setting, adjustable through a menu toggle:
- Open Pages as usual then go to the “Edit” menu.
- Scroll down to “Spelling and Grammar” submenu and choose “Check Spelling Automatically” so that it becomes unchecked.
One way to right click on a Mac is to press the Ctrl (or Control) key when you tap the mouse button, or the trackpad. Don't confuse the Ctrl key with the Alt (or Option) key. The Ctrl key on a Mac is not the one next to the space bar, it's at the far end of the keyboard, on either the right or left side.
You can undo recent changes you make to a document, then redo them if you change your mind. Do any of the following: Undo the last action: Choose Edit > Undo (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen), or press Command-Z on your keyboard. Redo the last action you undid: Choose Edit > Redo, or press Command-Shift-Z.
Press Shift-Command-4. Drag to select the area of the screen to capture. To move the entire selection, press and hold Space bar while dragging. After you release your mouse or trackpad button, find the screenshot on your desktop.
