Plus what sizes are they. Like me for instance I sell 100 roaches of any size for $10. So say it's 1300 nymphs, that's $130. Adult females are about $1 to $2 each.
Dubia roaches are cleaner and more odor free than other similar feeders such as crickets. Even so, there is some potential for decay or mold in a Dubia roach enclosure.
Dubia roaches won't attack, bite, or otherwise harass you or your animals. Darkling beetles may nibble on resting reptiles or arachnids. They may even try eating their fellow food bowl mates. Mealworms can devour crickets alive and crickets bite with powerful jaws.
Dubia Roaches sexing is very easy to determine when they are adults the mail has wings and the female does not, please see photo below. Note the male has large wings that go the length of the body and the female does not. Only adult males have wings.
Reproduction may slow if Dubia roaches don't have enough food or have the wrong food. Too much protein and too few carbohydrates will have a negative effect on their health. So will too many carbohydrates and too little protein. Too little dietary protein may result in the adults eating their offspring.
Because of this, interstate transport is illegal unless the proper permits are in place. Josh's Frogs has the proper USDA permits in place to legally ship dubia roaches across state lines. We've done the legwork and can ship dubia roaches to all US states, except for Florida, California, Louisiana, and Hawaii.
Breeding Dubia roaches is very easy and is almost a by-product of proper care: if your roaches are housed, heated and fed correctly, they will breed on their own. Temperatures of at least 85F are required to breed Dubia roaches successfully.
Dubia cockroaches can be fed a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables but do not feed head lettuce. Don't use things like fish flakes or dog food and cat food to feed roaches. These were not designed for your reptiles, and they can cause your animal more harm than good in the long run.
Avoid high protein foods such as dog or cat food and meat, since Dubia roaches convert excess protein into uric acid which can harm the reptiles that eat them. The most effective way to provide water is by using water crystals, a polymer based material that holds water.
Dubias do not cause impaction if they are given in the right size - they should be no larger than the space between your gecko's eyes; and if bigger than that, it's more choking that would be a problem rather than impaction. They have excellent nutritional value, if they are fed a nutritious diet.
B. dubia are ovoviviparous, which means that instead of laying eggs, females develop their young internally inside long, tube-like, multi-celled egg sacks called ootheca. Some roaches do lay eggs, but not Dubia. Birth occurs when a female expels her ootheca in response to nymph activity as they prepare to hatch.
It is now illegal in Florida and Tennessee to own Blaptica Dubia roaches because of there ability to thrive in hot, tropical climates. This is not the case for Discoid roaches which are a good feeder roach alternative.
In many cases, the roaches will grow along with your pets, with a new supply constantly available as they breed and mature. Safety: Dubia Roaches do not climb or fly: As long as they are kept in a smooth glass or plastic enclosure, Dubia Roaches are unable to escape by climbing or flying out.

If you want to put your own starter colony together, get medium roaches so you know they are young and will be in top breeding condition. Start with at least 20 roaches, 5 male roaches (full wings) and 15 females (wing stubs only). The more roaches you start with, the more babies you'll end up with.
At their peak, females can produce two egg cases a week, each containing up to 16 eggs, but after that, their reproductive capacity declines to about one case a month. The eggs incubate for six to eight weeks. In her lifetime, one female produces an average of 150 young.
The average adult bearded dragon will need to eat 3 to 5 (2-inch) Dubia roaches each day. Sub-Adults should eat 8 to 10 (1-inch) nymphs two times a day. Juvenile bearded dragons will need to eat 25 to 50 (1/2-inch) nymphs each day. While Hatchlings will need to eat 25 to 50 (1/4-inch) nymphs each day.
Appropriate feed for raising Dubia roaches includes: carrots, all manner of tropical fruits (mangos and papayas), apples, avocados, banana, cherries, pears, oranges, strawberries, fresh corn, tomatoes (some individuals show no interest in tomatoes while others eat readily), and lettuce (not iceberg or romaine)—many
Many customers prefer to add springtails or isopods to the substrate to help keep the dubia colony clean. Food then needs to be added to the enclosure. I've found that using a paper plate to put food on keeps the substrate cleaner, until the roaches have bred and the population is more numerous.
Stored Food. Cockroaches eat just about anything. Cockroaches can easily chew through paper, cardboard or thin plastic containers, so food items packaged in these materials should be transferred to cockroach-proof containers before being stored in the home.

The cockroach life cycle is comprised of three developmental phases, the egg, nymph and the adult stage. Most cockroaches are oviparous — their young grow in eggs outside of the mother's body. In these species, the mother roach carries her eggs around in a sac called an ootheca, which is attached to her abdomen.
PARASITES:Dubia Roaches don't carry pinworms or any other type of parasite, unlike crickets. Your pet can get infested from pinworms from eating crickets. Parasites are the most common health problem with many reptiles. BREEDING: Dubia Roaches are very easy to breed and give live birth.
I have had dubia survive 2 weeks without water. I put a few mid sized in a container just to separate them to feed them off, my girlfriend placed them in a closet and i forgot all about them came back about 2 weeks later and they were all still alive.
At 5-6 months old, the adult dubia roaches should be about 1 1/2” long, and are sexually mature. Males have wings, while females look like longer, darker nymphs. Each female will develop 20-40 offspring at a time, which are held inside until they hatch, which takes place about 4 weeks after fertilization.
While too much light causes stress, Dubia roaches cannot get too much darkness. There is no harm in keeping them in a place without any light, like a closet or drawer. They don't like light and they don't need it. Though they can see, most of what they do is guided by smell and feel.
growing nymphs and breeding individuals are fed every day. The others are typically fed every 2-3 days, and I often have a dry staple available outside of the fruit/veg/meat they get.
