Service Canada provides Canadians with a single point of access to a wide range of government services and benefits. Sign in to access Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPP-D) and Old Age Security (OAS).
The average monthly amount for June 2020 is $710.41.Your situation will determine how much you'll receive up to the maximum. You can get an estimate of your monthly CPP retirement pension payments by logging into your My Service Canada Account.
Just add the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a payee, and then add your account number carefully to avoid a lost or misapplied payment (your account number is your social insurance number).
To register for a GCKey, go to the sign in page and click the “Continue to GCKey” button. Then, choose a user name and a password. It'll ask you to create security questions.
Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)
- Periods 5 to 7: You can apply through the CRA's My Account or automated toll-free phone line at 1-800-959-2019 or 1-800-959-2041.
- Periods 1 to 4: You can apply by speaking to one of our agents at 1-800-232-1966.
In most cases, you do not need to apply for EI benefits. After you receive your last CERB payment, continue completing reports. We'll automatically review your file and your ROE, then start a claim for EI regular benefits if you qualify. If you don't qualify, you'll be notified by mail.
Am I eligible for the CERB? You may be eligible if you have stopped working because of COVID-19. When submitting your first claim, you cannot have earned more than $1,000 in employment and/or self-employment income for a period of at least 14 or more consecutive days within the four-week benefit period of your claim.
The benefit would be available to: residents in Canada who are at least 15 years of age and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) workers employed or self-employed at the time of the application and. workers who earned at least $5,000 in 2019 or in 2020.
If you need financial assistance after your CERB endsWe'll automatically review your file and your Record of Employment (ROE, then start a claim for EI regular benefits if you qualify. If you don't qualify, you'll be notified by mail. You will need to apply for EI after your CERB ends if: you're self-employed, or.
Unlike most standard paycheques, CERB payments do not have income tax deducted before they are sent out. The federal government has set the lowest tax rate for 2020 at 15 per cent. Anyone who earns $48,535 or less in total income for the year will owe tax on their CERB monies at that rate.
You may start applying on the first Monday after the 2-week period you're applying for has ended. Applications do not renew automatically. You must apply for each period separately. You may apply for any period you are eligible for that is open for application, including up to 60 days after the period has ended.
Mail a cheque or money order to the CRA:
- Make the payment out to "Receiver General for Canada"
- Indicate it is for "Repayment of CERB"
- Indicate which eligibility period you are repaying.
- Include your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or your Temporary Tax Number (TTN)

If you applied for or are receiving EI, your EI Access Code was sent you when applied. It can be found on your first benefit statement. If you cannot find your EI Access Code, call 1-800-206-7218 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm local time or go to your Service Canada Office (you will be required to verify your identity).
