ESPN+ has thousands of exclusive live events, original studio shows, and acclaimed series that aren't on the ESPN networks. ESPN+ allows subscribers to purchase UFC PPV events and access an extensive archive of on-demand content (including the entire 30 For 30 library, select ESPN Films, game replays, and more).
It will include an ESPN game on Monday nights (including three weeks with a separate game on ABC), a Saturday doubleheader the season's final week and the Sunday morning game on ESPN+. Monday Night Football, which has been aired on ESPN in primetime since 2006, remains cable's most-watched series.
ESPN+ includes a bevy of exclusive video content from live games to on-demand shows and exclusive stories. Unfortunately, the live games come with commercials — just like regular TV. Subscribers can watch live games from the MLB, NHL, and MLS when their seasons are active; there are no live NBA or NFL games.
What's included with The Disney Bundle? The Disney Bundle includes subscriptions to Disney+, ESPN+, and the Hulu plan you select for a discounted price, as compared to the retail price of each subscription when purchased separately.
Watching live ESPN channels still will require a paid TV subscription, whether from cable, satellite, or a live TV streaming service. The app acts as a gatekeeper by requiring users to sign in with their TV provider account to enable live viewing.
Subscribers can watch ESPN+ in the ESPN+ tab of the latest version of the ESPN App, on the web, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV (Generation 3 & 4), Android Handset, Roku, Chromecast, FireTV, XBOX One, Playstation 4, Oculus Go and Samsung connected TVs (Tizen).
ESPN Plus is a sports streaming service available from ESPN, but it isn't made available through your local cable provider. To watch those channels, you will still need a cable provider login.
That list of ESPN+ live content reads like a group of castoffs: programming not valuable enough to appear on one of ESPN's eight cable networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Classic, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, Longhorn Network, SEC Network). ESPN's press release makes no mention of the NFL or NBA at all.
While you can't purchase a subscription to ESPN directly, if you subscribe to any of the live TV streaming services above, you can opt to use the ESPN app (Formerly known as WatchESPN). You can use the ESPN app on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android devices.
