Charger SRT HellcatThis is without a doubt the top of the Charger lineup. For those looking for ultimate speed and power, the Hellcat is the way to go. It holds the title as the quickest, fastest and most powerful sedan in the world, thanks in part to supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 engine.
I've driven his quite a few times, and the difference is pretty amazing. I don't remember the exact 0-60 times off the top of my head, but I think the scat pack is about a second faster, which is huge. You can tell a significant difference in both the low and high end power.
The Challenger SRT 392 (top) trumps the R/T Scat Pack in terms of equipment and accessories, but not power; both Dodge coupes boast a 485-horsepower 6.4-liter V8. Sometimes, one letter can make quite a difference.
The R/T Scat Pack Widebody is the second most expensive Charger on sale today, but it's $25,600 less than a Charger Hellcat, which only comes in a Widebody.
Top Speed and AccelerationThe 0-60 mph acceleration is 3.4 seconds. It can do a quarter mile in 10.8 seconds at a speed of 131 mph. The R/T Scat Pack Challenger has a much more modest 485 horsepower but is just as impressive. Its quarter mile was 11.7 seconds at 115 mph.
In general, the 6.4 Hemi is a big reliable, American pushrod V8 engine with a factory warranty for five years or 100,000 miles. In stock form, the 6.4 Hemi is a great engine that lasts and serves hundreds of thousand miles. But, the stock 6.4 is by design not built for boost and pushing more power.
The Challenger R/T Scat Pack features four-piston Brembo brake calipers, while the Challenger SRT 392 gets six-piston Brembo brake calipers. SRT 392 models also feature a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and an 18-speaker premium audio system.
