If you see a black screen or you're stuck in an unresponsive full-screen game, be sure to try the Ctrl+Alt+Delete shortcut after restarting your graphics drivers. You can also try pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager directly, or press Alt+Tab or Win+Tab to try switching applications.
Steps for starting Safe Mode from a blank screen:

Then you'll just have to rely on the CD that comes with the motherboard and GPU to install your drivers. Still should only take about 30 minutes. The only "problem" is that the drivers won't be the most up to date, but enough to get your system to function.

Sometimes, a black screen happens because Windows 10 will lose its connection with the display. Using the Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B keyboard shortcut can restart the video driver and refresh the connection with the monitor.
