When should you submit eras?

ERAS Support Services at ECFMG highly recommends that you submit all of your supporting documents no later than September 7 to guarantee their availability on September 15 when programs begin accessing applications.

Just so, is it better to submit eras early?

For the ERAS application cycle, residency programs will begin reviewing applications in Mid - October. Applications submitted early will not be reviewed before this date, so you will have no distinct advantage in regards to residencies seeing your application early.

Also Know, does it matter when you submit eras application? YES. ERAS recommends your application be as complete as possible before sending it to residency programs, i.e. assign personal statement, create a list of letter writers and assign, and authorize transmission of your USMLE transcript.

Will residency interviews be virtual 2022?

Residency programs should conduct all interviews virtually for the 2021-2022 recruitment season. To allow adequate planning for applicants and programs, AAIM recommends that all programs conduct interviews virtually this season.

What month does residency start?

A year in residency begins between late June and early July depending on the individual program and ends one calendar year later. In the United States, the first year of residency is known as an internship with those physicians being termed interns.

How long does eras take to fill out?

If your CV is relatively complete and up to date, then it should only take you about 2 hours. I would also recommend sitting down with a friend or 2 afterwards and going through each persons application, because there's things that each of you will miss or have ideas on how to better present.
