The term Runaway Scrape was the name Texans applied to the flight from their homes when Antonio López de Santa Anna began his attempted conquest of Texas in February 1836. The flight was marked by lack of preparation and by panic caused by fear both of the Mexican Army and of the Indians.

The public treaty provided that hostilities would cease and that Santa Anna would withdraw his forces below the Rio Grande and not take up arms again against Texas. In addition, he also pledged to restore property that had been confiscated by the Mexicans. Both sides promised to exchange prisoners on an equal basis.

A "twin" is one of a pair of twins. One set of twins refer to two people who were born together. Several such pairs can be referred to as several sets of twins. By definition twins are two individuals (in the case of creatures) born at the same time.

Twin words are words that go together in some way, like 'thick and thin' or 'short and sweet'. They are used to give greater emphasis to what we say or write.
?Fraternal TwinsThey result from the fertilization of two separate eggs during the same pregnancy. In contrast, twins that result from the fertilization of a single egg that then splits in two are called monozygotic, or identical, twins. Identical twins share all of their genes and are always the same sex.
There has been some speculation as to the reason why Sam Houston spared the life of Santa Anna after Santa Anna was captured following the Battle of San Jacinto. Houston later alluded to this, that Santa Anna's value was greater to the cessation of hostilities between Mexico and Texas if Santa Anna were alive.
Deposed during his captivity with the Texan rebels, Santa Anna returned to Mexico a powerless man. He died in poverty and squalor in Mexico City at the age of 82, no doubt still dreaming of a return to power.

Santa Anna was captured and sent to Washington D.C., eventually returning home. But his career was far from over. He fought the French in 1838, losing a leg in battle, and led the Mexican army to defeat in the Mexican War.
San Jacinto is a city in Riverside County, California, U.S.A. It was named after Saint Hyacinth and is located at the north end of the San Jacinto Valley, with Hemet to its south. In the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, the city became a home to many dairies, and a center for agriculture.
the battle in 1836 that gained Texas its independence from Mexico. The US forces led by Sam Houston defeated a larger Mexican army led by General Santa Anna. The battle was fought near the San Jacinto River in south-east Texas, and a tall monument was later built there.
An army artist who sketched the Alamo compound in 1849 after the remodeling commented that the chapel had been topped with "a ridiculous scroll, giving the building the appearance of the headboard of a bedstead." Of the present Alamo building, probably only the bottom 23 feet of wall are part of the original.
After leaving office, Houston returned to his home in Galveston. He later settled in Huntsville, Texas, where he lived in a structure known as the Steamboat House. Houston's health suffered a precipitous decline in April 1863, and he died on July 26, 1863, at 70 years of age.
