If you lose the Internet connection, or if the thermostat loses the connection to the hub, you will not be able to control your thermostat remotely. If the heat or the hub is disconnected, the Hive application will show you and tell you what is wrong.
For Hive Active Heating a hub, a receiver and a thermostat are installed. When this service hasn't been bought, the thermostat and receiver can also be installed without a hub. This is known as 'stand-alone' mode.
What is the 'People' feature in the Hive App? The People feature allows you to grant other users access to your Hive home devices. Different levels of permissions can be granted to multiple users, who will then be able to access your devices while logged into their own personal accounts.
In order to use Hive with Alexa, you'll need: - Hive Hub or Hive Hub 360. - One or more of the following Hive devices: Hive Active Heating, Hive Light or Hive Plug.
To connect the receiver to the hub, put the hub into pairing mode. You can do this by selecting 'Install devices' within the Hive app menu. From there tap 'Add another device' and then 'Go' which will start the hubs search. Leave the hub searching and the receiver will change to a single flash of amber.
Once the hub has a solid green light at the top, with a flashing yellow light below, it is ready to pair with other devices.
The lights on the Hive Hub indicate how the Hub is operating at that specific time. - No light = The Hub has no power. - Solid green = The Hub is connected and should be operating normally. - Solid red = The Hub can't find an Internet connection. - Fast flashing green = The Hub is trying to connect to the Internet.
