J'zargo is one of the two Khajiit in the whole game who can become a follower. Unlike Onmund and Brelyna Maryon, J'zargo cannot become a steward or be married.

Note that you can't already be married if you want Serana as a wife. So good luck on divorcing your current spouse by any means should you have to resort to this.

To start Waking Nightmare talk to the priest Erandur inside Windpeak Inn in Dawnstar. After a bit of conversation, you will follow him up to the top of a nearby mountain, where you will battle some spiders. After that, you will talk to Erandur again. Then, you follow him into Nightcaller Temple.
The locations for building a homestead are:
- Heljarchen Hall, located in the snowy tundras of The Pale.
- Lakeview Manor, located in the dense forests of Falkreath.
- Windstad Manor, located near the salt marshes of Hjaalmarch.
To initiate the Hearthfire content, simply travel to the cities of Dawnstar, Falkreath or Morthal and speak to the steward there. Ask about purchasing a house and they will prompt you with the 5000 gold fee, handing over a deed to your plot of land.

Speak with the current Jarl of the Pale, who is Skald the Elder by default. The Jarl will tell you to kill the giant at one of several locations in the Pale. After completing their task, return to the Jarl to receive the bounty.

There are three homesteads the player can build: Lakeview Manor (east of Falkreath), Windstad Manor (northeast of Morthal), and Heljarchen Hall (south of Dawnstar).
Clay and quarried stone can be mined directly in front of the carpenter's workbench; a pickaxe and three quarried stone are also near the workbench. A corundum ore vein is located northeast of the carpenter's workbench, in between the two cliffs.
You will receive a quest marker indicating where to "find Helgi in the dark". Wait until nightfall to find Helgi "hiding" in her grave in a small plot behind the house. It's a short distance away, up and to the right, marked with cairns.

The Forsworn are the most common type of hostile NPC encountered in the Reach. Encounters with them will not occur under normal conditions outside of the Reach. It is not possible to join the Forsworn, but you can side with them through a quest series and one area will become non-hostile.

Marriage. If the Dragonborn wears the Amulet of Mara, Jordis will be available for marriage, like any other Housecarl appointed, and will act as shopkeeper once married.
