Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have discovered they are distant cousins after appearing on the documentary Ant and Dec's DNA Journey. The long-time collaborators traced their ancestral history throughout the two-part series, which ended on Monday night (11 November).
In November 2019, "Ant and Dec's DNA Journey" aired, which followed the pair as they retraced their family roots through DNA samples. In the show they both found out that they have the same DNA marker, which means that Ant and Dec are related as distant cousins.
DEC was acquired in June 1998 by Compaq, in what was at that time the largest merger in the history of the computer industry. However, Compaq had little idea what to do with its acquisitions, and soon found itself in financial difficulty of its own. The company subsequently merged with Hewlett-Packard (HP) in May 2002.

Compaq laptops were excellent. I still have one from 2000 and, yes, I cannot use modern software on it, but it still runs fine with the old software. HP wanted Compaq because in those days Compaq was a high-end brand, but they mismanaged it.

The merger of the two computer giants could create a stronger competitor for Sun Microsystems and I.B.M. in the server computer market while putting pressure on I.B.M., Dell and Gateway in the personal computer business. Hewlett-Packard and Compaq said the merged company would be in a position to compete with I.B.M.
