Cassandra is is seen holding the crown and explains she opened the library because the Serpent Brotherhood can save her. Flynn engages Lamia in a sword fight. Lamia uses the crown to take control of Excalibur and stabs Flynn in the abdomen. Lamia and Cassandra leave as two henchman prepare to kill him.

Nicole realizes that she has always believed herself to be Flynn's Guardian, while now she knows that she is the Library's Guardian. Flynn leaves her, and although this is The Librarians 4×12, he finds himself back at the beginning of the season.
In 2018, Flynn officially returned to the Library and took his rightful place as the Eternal Librarian by tethering with his Eternal Guardian Eve Baird.
The Library ensured practically the same thing back in The Librarians Season One. It was gratifying that Eve never actually betrayed the Library, though the episode didn't exactly do much to answer the question of whether or not Eve was originally intended to be a DOSA infiltrator, per the general's earlier claims.
