Nintendo's feature-length animated Mario movie is coming Dec.21, 2022, in the United States, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto announced during Thursday's Nintendo Direct. Oh yes, and the movie will star Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen's Gambit), and Jack Black (School of Rock).
Chris Pratt and Charlie Day have been tapped to play the titular video game siblings Mario and Luigi, respectively, two Italian plumbers plunged into a world of foes and fantasy in the beloved Nintendo game series.

King Koopa, often Koopa and also referred once as President Koopa, is the primary antagonist of the Super Mario Bros. He represents Bowser, the main antagonist of the video game franchise on which the film was based.
Mario was limited by technology and meant to represent the "Everyman" When Mario hit the scene in 1981, he was not a plumber, and he wasn't known as Mario. He was a carpenter going by "Jumpman." He became a plumber and gained his titular name later. Miyamoto told CNN Business the secret behind this decision.

Luigi () is Mario's younger, taller, and thinner twin brother. He made his debut in the Game & Watch game Mario Bros., subsequently appearing in the original arcade game Mario Bros. game as the second player. Since then, he, alongside his older brother Mario, have been considered the major mascots of Nintendo.
Luigi is Mario's fraternal twin brother. Luigi was originally developed via a palette swap of Mario with a green color scheme instead of red, but as the Mario series evolved, Luigi's character became taller and thinner than his brother Mario.
Luigi is portrayed as the taller, younger brother of Mario, and is usually seen dressed in a green shirt, dark blue overalls, and a green hat with a green "L" insignia.
Mario Bros. was released on July 14, 1983, where Green Mario debuted. Of the two, Luigi is my favorite bro; so Happy 32nd Birthday, you death-staring, ghost-snatching, second banana!

The original Donkey Kong released 40 years ago today (July 9 1981), marking Mario and the eponymous ape's first appearance, so series developers went online to celebrate.
Martinet first officially voiced Mario in the Super Mario Bros. pinball machine in 1992, though he was uncredited in the game.
