In an interview, Debbie Isitt said "Nativity 4 has been developed already and so has Nativity 5 – one of them is set 'Down Under' in Australia". She later added "However, I am uncertain as to if or when they will be made as there are other projects competing for my attention.

Nativity 3: Dude, Where's My Donkey? is the third installment of the Nativity film series by Debbie Isitt. It stars Martin Clunes, Marc Wootton, Catherine Tate with Celia Imrie and Jason Watkins. Like its predecessors, it was distributed by Entertainment One.

Marc Wootton has vacated his signature role as deranged teaching assistant Mr Poppy and been replaced by musical theatre star Simon Lipkin as his long-lost brother Jerry.
Cast. Martin Freeman as Paul Maddens, a primary school teacher trying to produce and direct a nativity play that will for once outdo a rival school. Marc Wootton as Desmond Poppy, nephew of Mrs Bevan and immature classroom assistant.
It was confirmed on 4 December 2017 that Nativity 4 would be released on Friday 23 November 2018, and would be entitled Nativity Rocks!.
This story is made up of many significant characters: Mary, Joseph, the Wise Men, the Inn Keepers, the Donkey, the Angel, the Star and the list goes on!
Most of the film is improvised, with the producers telling the actors what would happen in the scene, and the actors acting it out, with no script. Nativity was shot in Coventry during the summer. The local inhabitants decorated the streets to make it look more Chistmassy.

Nativity! was shot on location in Coventry, Warwickshire and Los Angeles and local movie-goers will be able to spot Bablake School, Coundon, East Avenue, Stoke Park, Lower Ladyes Hill, Kenilworth, the Ricoh Arena, Spon Street and even the newsroom of the Coventry Telegraph.
