When your iPhone is off or out of range, your Apple Watch can use a Wi-Fi network to send and receive data. Your watch can also connect to a cellular network if it's a cellular model. And if you've set up an Apple Watch for a family member, they can use a cellular or Wi-Fi connection with their watch.
Bluetooth Reset
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- Toggle the switch to the Off position.
- Toggle the switch back on.
- Tap Apple Watch to reconnect it with your iPhone.
Use the steps below to unpair:
- Erase your Apple Watch.
- Set up your new iPhone and sign in to iCloud.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your new iPhone, then pair your watch with your new iPhone.
- Try to restore from a backup.
- Follow the onscreen steps to finish setting up.
- Start using your Apple Watch with your new iPhone.
Open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap the My Watch tab, then tap All Watches at the top of the screen. Tap the "i" icon next to the watch that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair Apple Watch. Tap again to confirm, then wait for your watch to unpair. After your Apple Watch unpairs completely, you can pair again.
If your Apple Watch isn't pairing with your iPhone, there are a number of ways you can fix the connection. - On your iPhone, open the Settings app.

- Next to the device you want to forget, tap Information Forget this device. Forget device.
Open the App. From the app's main menu, open the Device settings. Disconnect the watch from the app. Then, go to the phone's Bluetooth settings and forget or unpair the watch.
Ensure that your smartwatch is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Launch the Wear OS by Google App and follow the on-screen instructions for pairing your watch. If it fails to connect, check the Bluetooth menu on your phone. If you see the smartwatch in the device list, remove it.
How to pair your watch with your phone via Bluetooth
- On your phone, enable Bluetooth.
- Open the app that corresponds with your watch.
- Find the 'discover watch' function - if it doesn't pop up during the initial setup, you'll usually find it in the app's settings.
- On your watch, make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
Try these steps: Restart your phone and check that the phone's Software is up to date. Then check all your apps are up to date too. Next, head to: Settings > Apps > 3 dots (top right) > Show System Apps > Bluetooth Share / Bluetooth Test > Storage > Clear cache / data and restart the phone.
What Causes the Fast Battery Drain on the Gear Smart Watches? Connection Alerts: In some cases, the Connection Alerts option under the settings can cause a huge drain on the battery due to high resource usage for the setting with no actual functionality. Therefore, it is recommended to turn the feature off.

Pairing an Android Wear smartwatch with an Android phoneInstall the "Wear OS by Google Smartwatch" app on your phone, available on the Google Play Store. On your watch, turn on Bluetooth. Open the Wear OS app on your phone and follow the initial setup. Tap on "I agree".
