Yuki is mentioned by other people, mostly to the rumors of him going out with Mafuyu in middle school. Another rumor is that the reason for his suicide had something to do with Mafuyu. Specifically with his arm around him where there was the rumor they were in a relationship.

In his drunken stage, Yuki died by suicide from hanging himself in his room, after which Mafuyu found him. One of his childhood friends, Yuki found Hiiragi had come across him kissing Mafuyu.
Given – 11 (End) and Series Review. For lack of a more delicate way of putting it, it was a music series with almost no music and a romance series that ended just as the romance took its first halting steps. For from a conclusion, the ending felt barely like an ending at all, but a segue.
Mafuyu Sato (?? ?? Satō Mafuyu) is one of the main protagonists alongside Ritsuka Uenoyama in the Given series. He attends the same school as Uenoyama and has an impressive singing voice.
given is exceptional at conveying the feeling of being young and in a band, through both good times and bad. given's stars all love music, but they're also preoccupied with plenty of other things in life - their jobs and schoolwork, their love lives, their aspirations for the future.
Given Anime Confirmed for 2020 Movie Adaptation. TV anime Given will get an animated movie adaptation in 2020. The anime focuses on high school students Mafuyu and Ritsuka's tender love. The upcoming movie will center on the older members of the cast (Haruki, Akihiko, and Ugetsu) and depict their bitter love story.

Yuki Yoshida (?? ?? Yoshida Yuki) was the childhood friend and ex-boyfriend of Mafuyu who died from an apparent suicide roughly half a year prior to the start of the series. He played guitar in a band with Hiiragi and Shizusumi.
They are close, taking breaks together and discussing matters such as Haruki saying that Akihiko knew full well why Ritsuka wanted to join the band but still asked him. He is seized in a headlock by his band member after he asked Mafuyu if he had ever been in love.
