When Harley-Davidson makes changes to the Iron 883, they stay faithful to at least one important aspect – performance. While XL models have never been known as 'fast' bikes, they certainly have a well-deserved reputation as 'quick' bikes.

While Harley-Davidson has recertified the Iron 1200, the Forty-Eight Special was left out. A more likely theory is that the absent models are being discontinued, with Harley-Davidson streamlining its Sportster offerings. Unless the timeline has moved up, 2020 looks to be a transition year for the Sportster lineup.
