5. Sprint. Sprint still lags its other Big Four rivals in our speed testing, as it has the previous two years we've tested LTE networks. Its average download speed of 32.5 Mbps fell just behind the average for Metro by T-Mobile, while its 4-Mbps average upload speed was the second-worst speed we recorded.
In laymans terms, the difference between 4G and LTE is that 4G is faster than LTE. The reason for this is that 4G meets the technical standards designated for it whereas LTE data transfer speed standard is merely a stopgap measure standard devised until actual 4G speed is realized.
Sprint's network coverage is the fourth best of all the major US cellular networks. In other words, Sprint has the worst coverage in the country, behind Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T.
LTE is a very good, easily deployable network technology, offering high speeds and low latencies over long distances. AT&T's LTE service was much better than Sprint's, but still bad with an average download speed of 7.6Mbps and an average upload speed of 2.4Mbps.
Resetting your network settings, like restarting your phone, often fixes a slow mobile data connection. On an Android phone, you'll find the reset network settings option at Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
Verizon and Sprint both clocked average speeds 25.9 Mbps for 4G LTE. As noted by Opensignal, AT&T's improved experience makes sense given its rapid deployment of new spectrum alongside LTE-Advanced technologies like carrier aggregation and 4x4 MIMO. Ookla previously ranked AT&T's network as the fastest in the country.
For the vast majority of iPhone users, just keep LTE on, the performance is so superior to the other networks that turning it off, even if it may save some battery life, is not worth the speed reduction.
Ensuring your phone's VoLTE is turned on has become more important than ever. When available on your carrier's network, this technology results in greatly increased call quality. Soon, however, it will no longer be an option, as the national carriers get rid of their non-LTE networks.
1 GB of data costs the same no matter the network, but a faster 4G LTE network requires more data. "That's true, but adds another problem to the mix: Overages that can cost up to $10 per extra gigabyte.
Even though VoLTE carries calls like how you transmit data on the Internet, it does not charge you extra on your calls. Carriers will still charge you per minute on your monthly bill, so you don't have to worry about bill shocks. There's no more need to call through a third-party app if you want higher quality calls.
Generally,
LTE is also called 4G.
VoLTE stands for 'Voice over Long Term Evolution'. It also supports 4G networks. In
VoLTE, you can enjoy data connectivity while calling.

Moving to a single radio eliminated Simultaneous voice and data capability because during an active call, Sprint voice cannot use network data since only one channel can be active at a time. Though this change eliminated SVD for now, it did improve: Battery life, voice quality and reduction of dropped calls.
Like VoLTE relies on having mobile signal, Wi-Fi Calling relies on being connected to Wi-Fi hotspot (wireless internet network) and having a compatible device. Once you have the latest Wi-Fi Calling software – it's simple!
Extended service means you are in an area where your carrier does not have any of it's own towers, but they have a signed agreement to provide service using a different carrier's towers to provide you with service. Since there is a signed agreement, you do not pay any additional charges.
Paths can differ slightly depending your Android version and phone manufacturer, but you can usually enable Airplane mode by going to Settings > Wireless & networks > Airplane mode. Turn it on for at least a couple of seconds, then disable it. In a lot of cases your LTE connection issues will be gone.
pull up your dial pad and type in ##873283# and let it run through its updates.. once its fully done it might also restart.. once that is done go ahead and run the phone like normal and report back if this fixed it or if it is still happening.
##SCRTN# (##72786# on the phone dialpad) is the code that should be dialed to initiate the process of resetting mobile device network settings. An SCRTN is sometimes referred to as a “network reset” by industry professionals.
There are always the possibilities of Sprint internet connection going slow. Several factors can be the reason, be it a natural disaster, power breakdown, and naturally weak network coverage.
Improve your network experience
- Restart your phone to refresh the wireless signal.
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Perform routine software updates on your device.
- Update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL) on your device to enhance connections and prolong battery life.
- Refresh your phone's data profile.
You can update your carrier settings by updating to the newest version of the Android OS available for your device.
- Tap the “Settings” icon, then select “About device”.
- Select “Software Update”, then wait for your phone to search for an update.
- Tap “Install Now” to install the update on your Android device.
Sprint will be absorbed by T-Mobile, and eventually Sprint customers will migrate to the T-Mobile network. T-Mobile will not raise prices for existing customers in the next three years. This includes people on T-Mobile, Sprint, and prepaid plans.
You're on T-Mobile—the Sprint brand has officially been discontinued as of August 3—but you will still use your original carrier's network for now. Part of the agreement for T-Mobile's acquisition is that it wouldn't raise prices for three years, so you shouldn't see any price increases until 2023.
By the end of

Its 5G service will be unlimited and won't cost more than its existing 4G plans. In general, 5G plans will cost more but don't expect carriers to be completely clear and transparent about it. Since 4G launched, carriers both took away unlimited plans and brought them back."
Sprint 5G users, meanwhile, got a slight increase with access to T-Mobile's 5G network, with 5G availability rising from 10.3% to 14.1%. Still, when Opensignal analyzed Sprint's 5G network between January 31 and April 30, 2020, users were getting average download speeds of 114.2 Mbps.
Which brands offer 5G internet service? All three major US wireless providers—AT&T, T-Mobile (which recently merged with Sprint), and Verizon—offer 5G internet service in select metro areas.
Changing your SIM card will help to ensure you get more 5G in more places when using a compatible device, such as indoors and in rural locations, and will make sure you're ready to take advantage of future network enhancement.
If you know you'll use a lot of data and want higher speeds, switching to Verizon is probably a better bet. In most cases, Verizon is a better bet than T-Mobile. It has more reliable coverage and faster speeds, but if you're on a budget, you can very possibly find a better deal with T-Mobile.
