Most commonly you can practice law in other countries of the European Union with a degree from University College Cork or other Irish universities in two steps: Qualify as either a Solicitor or Barrister in Ireland.
California RequirementsForeign-trained lawyers who have been admitted to practice law in a jurisdiction outside the U.S. are often eligible to take the bar exam in California without completing any additional requirements. The program must cover four separate subjects that are tested on the California Bar Exam.

Students who have completed a full-time degree in any subject from an overseas university qualify for entry onto the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), after which you can complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) if you want to become a solicitor, or the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) if you want to be a barrister
Students are likely to spend between five and six years obtaining their education to sit for the licensing exam. Students with an undergraduate degree may also be able to complete their education in a law school, which usually requires three more years of education.
In order to represent clients in the courts in the Republic, a Northern Ireland-qualified solicitor would need to be on the Roll of Solicitors in the Republic and hold a valid practising certificate for the Republic. Once the above is satisfied, a Northern Ireland-qualified solicitor could continue to practice.

Law students don't just get their degree and become lawyers; they have to pass further exams if they want to become a barrister or solicitor. It has become more difficult for newly qualified lawyers to walk straight into work.
Is it possible to become a solicitor without a university degree? Yes, it is. Would-be solicitors are often put off a legal career because of the lengthy academic and vocational training required to become a solicitor or barrister – and the debt they would incur.
The points required are unlikely to drop much this year and if you really want to get a law degree you need to score heavily in the Leaving Certificate, at least in the region of 450 points.

Admission to the Roll.The total cost to become a solicitor in Ireland can exceed 16,000 Euros but there are grants available through SUSI. While the process may take time, the combination of classroom and practical training provide a solid foundation for becoming a confident and qualified solicitor.
The simple way of looking at it is that the generic term is lawyer, and solicitors and barristers are types of lawyer. The UK's exit from the European Union would affect lawyers in two ways. A Registered Foreign Lawyer (RFL) is a lawyer who is qualified either in a UK jurisdiction other than Scotland or in a non-EU jurisdiction and is required to register in Scotland for the express purpose of joining a multi-national practice as a manager (or as a member if joining an incorporated practice).
