Visitors may not use pens, video cameras, or selfie sticks in the galleries. Still photography is permitted without flash and tripod and for noncommercial use only. Visit the Lobby desk for the Museum's policy on gallery sketching and photography. Strollers are permitted in most areas.
Not much else: With the Met's security procedures, you won't be able to bring much else with you. Visitors with backpacks or large bags will be required to check them, although purses are okay to be carried around. You're better off leaving large items to avoid the long bag check lines.

However, if you have to travel with a stroller plan ahead and try to bring a light stroller that you can fold up and carry. Though the official rule is that the stroller must be folded on the subway and bus, I have seen many people with open strollers on the subway.The Met is a destination for all things art and culture, including dining. Coat checking is free. Oversized backpacks and liggage are not checkable and the guards won't let you in with them. Regular sized backpacks (daypacks) are OK but you must carry them in front or over one shlulder only.
You certainly can bring your stroller on the subway. If the train isn't crowded there's no need to fold it up. If you're getting on a crowded train, however, you'll make more friends if you fold it up. Be aware that not many NYC subway stops have elevators which means you will need to carry the stroller up the stairs.

Parking is available at our facility conveniently located within the Museum; enter at 81st Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. The parking garage is open from 8 am to 11 pm.

Free Day at the Natural History Museum. The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County offers free admission on 13 Tuesdays a year. All Tuesdays in September are free. Families can enjoy exhibits such as the Dinosaur Hall, the Insect Zoo, and the Hall of Gems and Minerals.

The adult admission at the American Museum of Natural History is only a suggested donation, but you'll have to pay full price for planetarium shows, IMAX films, and special exhibits. The Museum has three entrances: on Cromwell Road, Exhibition Road and Queen's Gate. Cromwell Road (access at the corner of Exhibition Road) is open and has step-free access. Closest Tube station: South Kensington.
Luggage and cloakroom
