The Nintendo Network itself is a free service, though some of the available content (such as downloadable content from the Nintendo eShop) costs money.
To get started, head to your account settings page here.
- Scroll down to User ID and click Edit.
- On the next page, re-enter your password and click OK.
- Next, create your unique User ID and click Save.
- Click the checkbox next to Nintendo Network ID.
- On the next page, log into your Nintendo Network ID, then click Sign In.
Here's what to expect. As previously announced, Nintendo Switch Online ranges in price: $3.99 for a month, $7.99 for three months, $19.99 for a year, and family plans that costs $34.99 (provided there are at least two accounts) — but users can get a seven day free trial to start.
Complete these steps
- Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.
- Select Nintendo Network ID Settings.
- Select Other.
- Select Delete Nintendo Network ID.
- If prompted, enter the 4-digit PIN and select OK.
- Select your reason for deleting from the options on the screen.
Nintendo Network ID
So you have your Nintendo Account and your new User ID. If you're planning to purchase a Nintendo Switch, your Network ID will still be tied to your account for your old consoles, you just won't need to use a Network ID for the Switch.You can link your Nintendo Account to multiple consoles. However, you can only activate one primary console per Nintendo Account. On a non-primary console, games that you've downloaded with your Nintendo Account will only be playable using your account.

What to Do:
- For Nintendo Account sign in - Enter the email address and password associated with your account, then click "Sign In".
- For Nintendo Network ID - Click "Nintendo Network ID", enter your NNID and password, then click "Sign in".
You can link up to eight Nintendo Accounts to one Switch, each with different personal settings and save data, and everyone can play the same games! The best part is, all of the games anyone purchases on one Switch using their Nintendo Account can be shared by everyone.
What to do
- Visit the Forgot NNID website.
- Enter the E-Mail Address associated with your account into the appropriate field.
- Select either Birth Date or Nickname.
- Select Send.
- An e-mail with your Nintendo Network ID(s) will be sent to the e-mail address associated to your Nintendo Network account.
Nintendo Confirms 3DS Will Co-Exist With Switch. With the launch of the Switch ($299.99 at GameStop) , Nintendo is attempting to cater to both home and portable gaming markets using a hybrid device.
Can I Set Up Multiple Nintendo Network IDs on My Nintendo 3DS? No. Only one Nintendo Network ID can be associated to a Nintendo 3DS family system at a time. If you have the wrong Nintendo Network ID associated with your system, you will need to format the system.
How to add additional Nintendo Accounts to your Switch
- Select System Settings from the Home screen of your Nintendo Switch.
- Scroll down and select Users from the menu on the left.
- Select the profile you want to link a Nintendo Account to.
- Select Link Nintendo Account.
A Nintendo Network ID can be linked to one Wii U and one system in the Nintendo 3DS family. It is not possible to link the same Nintendo Network account to multiple Wii U or multiple Nintendo 3DS family systems at the same time.
A Nintendo Network ID is an ID that grants access to various Nintendo Network services. Once you have a Nintendo Network ID, you can check its details either in User Settings on a linked Wii U console or in the Nintendo Network ID Settings portion of System Settings on a linked system in the Nintendo 3DS family.

How to View Your Nintendo Network ID From Your Friend List
- Press the HOME Button to open the HOME Menu. There are some applications/screens where the HOME Menu cannot be accessed.
- From the HOME Menu, tap Friend List on the left.
- Your Nintendo Network ID will be displayed in orange lettering, in the top-right corner.
