Parking Charge: £4.50 all day (high season) £2 all day (low season), parking is free for National Trust members.
Porth Oer Beach (Whistling Sands) is definitely one of the most noteworthy beaches on the Lleyn Peninsula as the sand here does actually "squeak" under your feet! Dogs are not allowed on the beach in the summer months.
Dogs are not allowed on-site, with the exception of assistance dogs. We are often asked about the reason for Portmeirion & Castell Deudraeth's no-dogs-allowed policy. The no-dogs policy is also applied to protect the many people who may be picnicking, walking, swimming or relaxing in the grounds.
Shell Island is one of the few beaches that dogs are allowed on, so please clean up after them and use the doggy bins provided.
Porth Neigwl is a 4 mile, dog friendly beach, accessed through 500m of sand dunes from a car park near the village of Llanengan. Aberdaron Beach is made up mostly of sand with the odd large rock around. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in the summer months.
A small section of beach immediately in front of the holiday park has a dog ban between April 1st and September 30th. The rest of the beach is dog-friendly year round.
Dogs are allowed all year round on this beach. A small sheltered beach, with a woodland backdrop. Car park nearby and a quieter option to the beaches of Abersoch. There ia a licensed cafe on the beach and toilets nearby.

Stunning coastline and amazing views!
Southport beach really does boast some of the most amazing views of the coast. With long sandy beaches and a coast-line that stretches 22 miles across Sefton, you can soak up the panoramic view of golden sands and admire the beauty of the coast!Southport is a seaside resort in Merseyside. Southport grew up from the end of the 18th century. At that time staying by the sea and bathing in sea water became fashionable among the rich and famous and several seaside towns were founded. Later, in 1798 he built a hotel, the South Port Hotel.
On site parking - Parking is charged at £6 per car. Parking on the beach is only available this year if travelling from the North/East and will be limited. If you are travelling from the North you will automatically be directed to beach parking and Marine Drive car park.
Sea finally due to come into Southport. It's not something we get to see often - but the sea is definitely coming into Southport today! Yesterday's morning's Supermoon will cause supertides which will cause tides along the Sefton coast, at Southport, Ainsdale, Formby and Crosby, above 10 metres high.
Southport beach is free of dogs starting from the Pier south towards Pleasureland (for 555m) and to the tide line. Ainsdale Beach is free of dogs 200m either side of the main beach entrance and to the tide line.
Unfortunately more palm oil has been washed up on the beach at Formby on Ravenmeols part and also northwards towards Victoria Road. A spokesman from National Trust Formby said: "Please keep a close eye on your dogs and don't let them eat anything."
No it's not advisable, but there is a very good swimming pool very close to the beach. Most people (kids) just paddle. You also have the iron men on the beach. over a year ago.
