Mineral spirits or acetone are acceptablethinners that can be used as an alternative to traditionalones like turpentine. Both of these common household products canbe used to thin oil-based paint. You can purchase either atyour local hardware store or home center. Measure out the solventsto use them as thinner.
Thinning. Many artists like to usesolvents to thin their paint. Another option is touse acrylic paint for an underpainting (it isabsolutely fine to apply acrylic paint first and go over itwith oil paint. It is not so great to do it the otherway round).
If you have added thinner to thepaint and is still too thick, try adding a little bitof water to it, only if it is latex paint. Neverleave the paint thinner can open for too long, as it willevaporate.

Add an ounce or two of water to the can and thenthoroughly stir. Continue to add water in small incrementsuntil the desired consistency is achieved.It's true that both mineral spirits and paintthinners can be used to dissolve paint from brushes orrollers (simply soak the painting utensil directly in thesolvent*) or to thin overly viscous paint (mixdirectly into the paint in the ratio of one partsolvent per three parts paint).
Use small amounts of thinner at a time. Checkpaint container labels for the manufacturer's recommendedpaint to paint thinner ratio. For general purposethinning, a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio of paint to thinner orsimilar ratio is appropriate.

Diesel has more BTU's per gallon thenKerosene and will burn hotter and also give betterlubrication to the fuel pump. Kerosene will burn cleaner andtherefore smell less. Big thing is both put off CO so ventilationis critical.
Kerosene is also called #1 diesel fueloil, whereas regular diesel is designated as #2diesel fuel oil. Some people consider it similar enough thatthey may try to use it interchangeably with regular (#2)diesel fuel.
