The Men's Club Soccer team is a very competitive team comprised of players with significant high school, club, and/or college experience. We compete in the West Coast Soccer Association against a number of clubs including UCLA, USC, Stanford, UC Davis, San Diego State and Cal Poly SLO.
California Club Tennis is a student-run organization that practices and competes throughout the school year. The club is a part of UC Berkeley's Rec Sports Clubs, playing in USTA Tennis On Campus Tournaments. They use World Team Tennis rules in match play, which emphasizes both singles and doubles play.
International students are not eligible for federal financial aid or institutional aid managed by the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at UC Berkeley. The GPA you need to get a full ride scholarship varies from college to college. Some scholarship providers may look for a certain GPA like 3.5 – 3.7 on a scale of 4.0. Or they may assess your particular class rank (E.g. top 5% or 10% in your class). Others look at ACT or SAT scores.

Track and field scholarships are arguably some of the easiest sports scholarships to get. Why? Because they usually have limited competition. Most athletes train for some form of track and field, whether it's long distance running or speed sprinting.
Just 85 full ride scholarships are available to NCAA DI universities annually. Fewer still are on offer to DII colleges. Division III includes 442 colleges, but these institutions do not offer college athletic scholarships.
Full scholarships cover tuition and fees, room, board and course-related books. Most student-athletes who receive athletics scholarships receive an amount covering a portion of these costs.
Across the NCAA, especially in high profile sports like football and basketball, athletes can get everything from tuition to books to even their housing paid for. In U Sports—the governing body of Canadian university sports—there's no such thing as a “full ride.”
What are the NCAA GPA requirements for an athletic scholarship in each division? In order to receive full NCAA academic eligibility to compete your freshman year, you must achieve at least a 2.3 GPA in your core courses for Division 1 and a 2.2 GPA for Division 2 to fulfill the NCAA GPA requirements.
Full-ride athletic scholarships aren't that common unless you're an incredible athlete, or you're signing with an NCAA Division I head-count sport. These days, the percentage of high school athletes earning some athletic scholarship aid is as low as 2%.
Athletic scholarships can be guaranteed for four years, but it's not the norm. The NCAA has allowed colleges to provide multiyear scholarships since 2012. For most student-athletes, athletic scholarships are awarded for one year only and renewed annually.
NCAA Approves Unlimited Meals and Snacks for Division I Student-Athletes. Whereas previously student-athletes were afforded only three meals per day, they will now have unlimited access to meals provided by on-campus facilities. The privilege will extend to walk-on athletes as well.
D1 athletes will receive any and every type of gear you can possibly think of. This includes socks, shoes, compression pants, shorts, joggers, sweatpants, undershirts, t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, polos, rain jackets, sweatshirts, coats, beanies, hats, and any other accessories related to the sport you play.
College Athletes Are Now Closer To Getting Paid After NCAA Board OKs Plan. The NCAA's highest governing body supports allowing student-athletes to be compensated for third-party endorsements, along with receiving money from other avenues.
Except for having to pay for tuition, room and board, walk-ons are treated the same as scholarship players. They're given the cost-of-attendance stipend, a laptop and Adidas gear, and they have access to the academic support and life skills programs.
Combined, NCAA Division I and II colleges provide more than $2.9 billion in athletics scholarships annually to more than 150,000 student-athletes. For men: In Division I, the average scholarship amount is $14,270. In Division II, the average is $5,548.
Recruiting happens when a college employee or representative invites a high school student-athlete to play sports for their college. Recruiting can occur in many ways, such as face-to-face contact, phone calls or text messaging, through mailed or emailed material or through social media.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, or the NAIA, has about 300 member institutions. NAIA schools are smaller and have relatively low athletic department budgets, roughly on par with Division III schools. However, unlike NCAA Division III, NAIA schools do offer athletic scholarships.
