Due to the Wii's ability to use GameCube controller input, all official GameCube controllers may be used on certain Wii games, such as Mario Kart Wii. The GameCube controller can also be used for games on the switch!
On the GameCube and Classic controllers, the purpose of the Z button is to grab opponents. On the Nunchuk and Nintendo 64 Controllers, the Z button is used to shield a character.
One of the benefits of Dolphin is that you can play with any controller you like, including controllers from other consoles and third-party gamepads. If you don't have a controller, you can use the keyboard and mouse, which is fine for GameCube games but isn't that great for Wii games.
Complete these steps. Feed the cord on the wrist strap through the connector hook, and insert the Classic Controller plug into the External Extension Connector on the bottom of the Wii Remote. Set down the Wii Remote and hold the Classic Controller with both hands. The Wii Remote does not need to face the console.
You don't need the Wii Motion Plus.
No. The game was made with the sole purpose of showing off the Motion Plus. Wii Sports Resort REQUIRES Wii Motion Plus, as it was designed for it & the game will do a periodic recalibration check before starting any game within it.

The only difference is the addition of the new, more accurate sensors. Unless your game requires or is enhanced by MotionPlus (which isn't a high percentage), the Wii Remote Plus even plays identical to a plain Wii remote. It's just a Wii Remote and a MotionPlus accessory built into the same shell.
Available in black, pink and blue, the Game Controller Plus line has Wii MotionPlus functionality built in.
The Wii Remote that came with your Wii console is synced at the factory. Additional Wii Remotes must be synced to the Wii console before they can be used. Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote (how to).
1 Answer. The Wii U gamepad (the one with the touch screen) and Wii U pro controller will not work on a Wii, and in fact do not work on the Wii mode the Wii U itself has. All Wiimotes, including those with Wii Motion Plus (the only "new" remotes I'm aware of) will work with both Wii U and Wii systems.

No it doesn't. Come on now, you had no idea if what you were saying was true, it was just conjecture that sounded plausible that you never actually verified. "Once you connect the Wii MotionPlus accessory to the Wii Remote, you can leave it attached even if the game you are playing does not use Wii MotionPlus."
Things You'll Need
- Wii or Wii U console.
- Wii Remote for each player (Nunchuk optional)
- New Super Mario Bros Wii game (sold at most electronic and retail stores)
- Friends to play the game with (optional, but strongly recommended)
- TV or other video output.
It features near wireless functionality by plugging directly into the Wii Remote controller, providing a unique control option for veteran gamers and newcomers alike.
So does Super Mario Bros Wii need a nunchuck? Although you have the option to play using a nunchuck, one is not required to play the game.
