UNC-Chapel Hill is a global leader known for its innovative teaching and ground-breaking research. Carolina offers a variety of courses and programs to prepare students to thrive in a rapidly evolving economy.
It isn't a useless major, but it definitely needs something extra to supplement it. A biology degree will get you into med/grad school. It will not get you a job. You can't even teach it without further education.
Biology is hard because it involves a lot of unfamiliar concepts (some of which are difficult) and requires mastering an unfamiliar vocabulary (which is true of any science). It is less math-intensive than chemistry or physics (which are MUCH harder if you can't do the math).

From a strictly academic perspective, the biology degree might be harder. Nurses do take biology classes. It has been over 20 years, but I recall biology classes being pretty difficult. A person with a biology degree has probably not taken any nursing classes…

What Is a Human Biology Major? Human biology majors obtain a background in the biological sciences and related fields with a focus on health and human development. This is a separate program from a traditional biology major, which is broader and includes education on plants and animals in addition to humans.
The Graduate Program in Marine Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill provides teaching and research in estuarine, coastal and oceanographic sciences, leading to M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in Marine Sciences.
