Steps to View e-Filed Returns / Forms
- Logon to 'e-Filing' Portal
- Go to the 'My Account' menu and Click 'View e-Filed Returns / Forms' hyperlink.
- Select the applicable option from the dropdown and click 'Submit' to view the details of the e-Filed Return/Forms. ?
After you fill out your details and submit, the status will be displayed on your screen. Login to the e-filing website and on the dashboard you'll see an option 'View Returns / Forms'. Go the 'View Returns / Forms' option, select income tax returns and assessment year from the dropdown menu and submit.
How to download your ITR-V from the Department website
- Step 1: Go to the Income Tax India website and log in.
- Step 2: Select the 'View Returns/ Forms' option to see e-filed tax returns.
- Step 3: Click on the acknowledgement number to download your ITR-V..
- Step 4: Select 'ITR-V/Acknowledgement' to begin the download.

If the payment that is being made to the contractor does not exceed Rs. 30,000, No TDS on payment to contractor is required to be deducted. However, if the total of all such payments made or to be made during a financial year exceeds Rs. 75,000; TDS shall be deducted under Section 194C at the rates mentioned above.

Income tax is paid on the annual income,where as TDS is deducted at source on a periodic basis in the particular year. TDS Certificate
In general, there are 2 types of TDS certificates that are issued by deductors. Form 16: Issued by employers to employees listing down the details of the tax deductions made throughout the year. Form 16A: For all other TDS deductions other than salary.A TDS Return is a summary of all the transactions related to TDS made during a quarter. TDS Return is a quarterly statement submitted by the deductor to the Income Tax Department.

The government uses TDS as a tool to collect tax in order to minimise tax evasion by taxing the income (partially or wholly) at the time it is generated rather than at a later date. TDS is applicable on the various incomes such as salaries, interest received, commission received etc.
TDS payment rules: Every person is required to pay the tax deducted to the credit of government by the 7th day of the following month. Non-payment or late payment of TDS will attract interest @ 1.5% per month until the tax has not been deposited.
TDS return can be filed by employers or organizations who avail a valid Tax Collection and Deduction Account Number (TAN). Any person making specified payments mentioned under the I-T Act are required to deduct tax at source and needs to deposit within the stipulated time for the following payments : Payment of Salary.
Any person making specified payments mentioned under the Income Tax Act are required to deduct TDS at the time of making such specified payment. But no TDS has to deducted if the person making the payment is an individual or HUF whose books are not required to be audited.
Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) is a system introduced by Income Tax Department, where person responsible for making specified payments such as salary, commission, professional fees, interest, rent, etc. is liable to deduct a certain percentage of tax before making payment in full to the receiver of the payment.
You need to file a TDS refund claim when the employer has deducted more tax than the actual liability. You can claim the difference amount by filing an income tax return. You will have to provide the bank account number, name of the bank, and Indian Financial System Code (IFSC) details for successful processing.
But no TDS has to deducted if the person making the payment is an individual or HUF whose books are not required to be audited. However, in case of rent payments made by individuals and HUF exceeding Rs 50,000 per month, are required to deduct TDS @ 5% even if the individual or HUF is not liable for a tax audit.

Applicability of TDS Under GST
Recipients of goods or services also known as deductors who enter into a contract with a supplier for taxable goods or services of a value exceeding Rs 2.50 Lakhs are required to deduct TDS from the tax invoice of such suppliers.
