The Auschwitz-Birkenau museum is open daily from 8am except for January 1st, December 25th, and Easter Sunday. It closes at 3pm from December to February, 4pm in March and November, 5pm in April and October, 6pm in May and September, and 7pm from June to August.
Taking photos is entirely forbidden in Room 5 of Block 4, in the cellars of Block 11 as well as in the area of the security check of visitors and their hand luggage.
Due to the huge interest visitors are kindly requested to book in advance at the website visit.auschwitz.org, as well as to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the tour. Larger luggage should be left in vehicles in the car park or the left luggage room during the opening hours of the Museum.
