Using your rider account, you may request one Uber vehicle at a time. You can request another vehicle immediately after a current trip ends. If you want to ride in a group too large for a single vehicle, please ask others in your group to use their Uber accounts to request additional vehicles.
You may request a trip, with up to the maximum number of passengers for that ride-type ( eg: 1–2 people for uberPool, up to 4 people for uberX, up to 6 or 7 for uberXL). Once the trip has completed you can request another driver to your present location or another location to pick up the remainder of your group.
Can you request multiple Lyfts at once? No. You can't request a new ride until you fnish and rate your existing one.
How to ride with UberXL
- Request. Open the app and enter your destination in the "Where to?" box.
- Ride. Check that the vehicle details match what you see in the app before getting in your UberXL.
- Hop out. You'll be automatically charged through your payment method on file, so you can exit your UberXL as soon as you arrive.
Uber charges a few cents less than Lyft does per mile and per minute to keep their competitive edge. Lyft charges more per trip so that their drivers can earn more. Lyft could just take a cut in the percentage they take from the driver which is equal to Uber's 20–25% of each trip.

Uber XL category offers rides for up to 6 passengers. Most SUV's and minivans have 6 passenger capacity plus driver, there are few minivans that have 3 seats in the middle and 3 in the rear that will fit 7 passengers total plus driver however that is an exception and not a rule.

The Luxury Rides
A good rule of thumb is to assume you will receive a sedan unless you order a luxury SUV service such as Uber SUV or Lyft Lux SUV (see below).
