What should I know about using the
Fitbit app on my
Android phone?
To unlock your device with your phone:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image.
- Tap Device Lock.
- Find the option to reset your PIN code.
If your Fitbit tracker isn't charging properly, you may need to switch charging cables or clean your device. Potential solutions: Make sure your Fitbit tracker and charging cable are clean. Dust and debris can accumulate over time, which could prevent the device from charging properly.
How do I change the time on my Fitbit device?
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > Advanced Settings.
- Under Time Zone, turn off the Set Automatically option.
- Tap Time Zone and select the correct time zone.
- Sync your Fitbit device.
If you're on Android, hit the Recent Apps button and close all apps running in the background, you need to do the same if you're an iPhone user. After this, open the app again and try to see if the sync between the two devices work. Syncing issues with Fitbit Ionic has always something to do with the app.
Shutting down your Fitbit Blaze can save battery, but it can also help reset the system if you encounter any issues or errors. When you turn off your Fitbit Blaze, you won't erase any data, so don't worry about losing your stored stats and info.
Press the Home button (left) and then swipe to the Settings screen. Tap Settings and swipe until you see Shutdown. Tap the arrow on the bottom right. Tap the checkmark to confirm shutdown.
When properly charged, a Fitbit's battery could last between five and seven days before requiring another charge, depending on the model of your device and how actively you use it.
How to reset a Fitbit Charge HR. To restart a Fitbit Charge HR, simply connect its power cable and then hold in the device's lone button for a little more than 10 seconds. When the Fitbit logo and some numerical data appear on screen, the unit has reset and should be working properly again.
The restart instructions for the Inspire HR are:
- Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
- Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically.
- Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds.
If your Fitbit Versa won't turn on all of a sudden, it's possible that its battery may have simply lost power. If that's not the case, it's also possible that the battery has simply run out of juice. Lithium-polymer Batteries don't lose 100% power. If that does occur, the battery needs to be replaced.
Button navigationThere are three physical buttons on the Ionic. Each one pulls double duty with a short and a long press from the main watch face. The left button acts as your back button, or if you hold it in long enough, Fitbit Pay launches.
All swim-ready wearables like these are water-resistant up to a certain depth. Fitbit Ionic is water-resistant down to 50 meters (150 feet), rendering it suitable for showering swimming, snorkeling, and recreational diving. I just wish it looked better. Editor's Note: The Fitbit Ionic is being replaced by the Fitbit Sense ($329), a new smartwatch that has GPS, can track AFib, and has sensors that can also monitor your skin temperature and stress, and offer guidance on how to improve.
The good Fitbit Ionic has a better-than-most-smartwatches four-day battery life, while still having always-on heart rate and a comfy fit. It has features galore: waterproofing, GPS and on-wrist mobile payments, plus new watch faces and a growing app store.
If you update your device at midnight (when your step count resets) you may see an inaccurate step count for 24 hours. Updates may take up to an hour or more to complete.
Fitness tracking: The Fitbit Ionic tracks all your steps, distance, and even your heart rate throughout the day. All that data is synced to the Fitbit app, which is excellent for visualizing your activity. The Ionic includes quick access to exercise modes, and it'll automatically detect workouts as you do them.
The Fitbit Ionic will show you notifications from your smartphone, just like other Fitbits do. This includes text messages, iMessages, calendar appointments, phone calls, and some app-specific notifications. Since there's no microphone or speaker on the Ionic, you can't dictate anything to it.
