Having a complete national dex in Pokémon HOME gives you the previously unreleased original color Magearna. r/pokemon: r/pokemon is an unofficial Pokémon fan community. This is the place for most things Pokémon on Reddit-TV shows, video games, toys …
Once you've seen all 150 Pokemon in Sinnoh, you can upgrade your Pokedex to the "National Pokedex" where there aren't 150 slots to fill, but over 400. To do this, simply head to Sandgem Town, one of the first locales we visited in the beginning of the game, and the hometown of Professor Rowan and his Pokemon research.
After completing the Dex, go to Professor Rowan's laboratory. He will congratulate you on completing the Sinnoh Pokédex just as Professor Oak comes in to the building. He will notify you that there are many more Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex and you will be given the National Pokédex. It is as simple as that.
a poke radar is an item that you get after completing the sinnoh dex or the game (sorry I forgot) it allows you to find Pokemons from other regions in distinct routes although not every time you use it a other region Pokemon shows up it'll take a while for that to happen.
Go to the north end of town and visit the house second from the right. In here, you will find three people. Talk to the old woman on the left side of the house. If you have 149 Pokemon on your Sinnoh Pokedex, she'll show you a picture of the Pokemon you didn't yet see.
The method of getting the National Pokédex is to complete the Sinnoh Dex. However, Pokémon Platinum has a further 59 Pokémon in the Pokédex and you need to see all 210 of them as opposed to seeing the first 150 in Diamond & Pearl.
With the National Dex, you'll be able to track and find migrant Pokemon from Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, and the Pokeradar can be used to help locate several of them.

- After you see all 210, go to see Rowan.
- To get the national dex do the following.
- You need to (at least) see all 210 Sinnoh Pokemon, defeat the Pokemon League (E4 + Champion), then talk to Prof.
After beating the Pokemon League, go back to the Pokemon Lab in Lumiose City and go to the second floor. Go to the top right corner and talk to a scientist who will give you the radar. All you need to do is beat the pokemon League.
To use the Poké Radar, you first have to charge it up by walking 50 steps. Then you have to be standing in grass or flowers where wild pokémon can appear. When you use the radar, some patches of grass around you will shake. Those shaking patches have wild pokémon.
You can find a ditto on route 218 using the Pokeradar.
POKEMON DIAMOND, PEARL AND PLATINUM POKE RADAR GUIDE. Right as you receive the National Dex, you will receive the Poke Radar, too. The function of this handy Key Item is to point out where in grass you can find Pokemon. The Poke Radar can only be used in normal grass that wild Pokemon appear in.
Accessing Pal Park
In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, Pal Park does not open until the player has obtained the National Pokédex. Once they have it, Professor Oak will meet the player on Route 221 and invite the player inside the Pal Park building, where he briefly explains how the park works.Yes. As you need both Zacian and Zamazenta (and you obviously can get only one per save), you need trading to complete the dex. Same with other exclusives, but they can be obtained via raids, too: you just need to find a raid hosted by the opposite version.
Despite the Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex not having every single Pokemon ever, there is still 400 of the cheeky critters to catch and trust us; it's a lot! Especially the Pokemon Sword and Shield Wild Area which is full of Pokemon in every corner, with different ones spawning depending on the weather conditions.
Producer Junichi Masuda has offered several reasons for this decision – he told USGamer that it was because of “the sheer number of Pokémon” (807, plus the Sword and Shield additions), and that limiting the Pokédex was always an inevitability.
National Pokédex. The National Pokédex (Japanese: ???? national illustrated encyclopedia) is a Pokédex that has been upgraded with the National Mode (Japanese: ??? National Edition) that records information on all Pokémon known to exist, instead of just ones native in a particular region.
Pokedex completion has nothing to do with whether or not your a casual or hardcore. 99% of players haven't completed it and most of them don't care to. It's not worth the time investment.
1 Answer. Depends on what you mean by 'Complete the Pokedex'. Sword and Shield's Pokedex does not feature all Pokemon. That is to say: about 400 Pokemon were left out of the game code, they don't exist in Sword/Shield or the Galar region in which they're based.
EDIT 3/1/2019: Now, with the addition of Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, there are three more Pokémon currently. Will add more when the new games come out. We are now sitting at 1,111 Pokémon.
You have to catch them all. You can also evolve them instead of catching the evolutions. You'll need at least 50 species registered to beat the game, by the way.
Catching Darkrai in Pokémon Platinum requires a Member's Card. Unfortunately, the only way to get the Member's Card is by attending a Nintendo event which ended in 2009. You can still get Darkrai, but you will need an Action Replay to hack the game.
Legendary Pokemon can't breed (Exept Manaphy). Rotom is not a legendary since it can breed. [EDIT] It should be noted that an unoffical Pokémon handbook, called Pokémon Ultimate Handbook, lists Rotom as a legendary Pokémon. However, this book is riddled with errors (it also lists Delibird as a legendary, for example).
The most obvious difference between Platinum and Diamond/Pearl is the look of the game. You can see that the weather, in general, is colder throughout the game. There are patches of snow are found all the way to Twinleaf Town. There is still some warmer areas, such as where the Battle Zone used to be in Diamond/Pearl.
3 Answers. Arceus is only obtainable via event as for Dialga and Palkia they can only be found in Diamond / Pearl / Platinum.
Palkia is a legendary. Likewise, Palkia cannot be encountered in Diamond. They are mutually exclusive, and the only way to obtain the other would be through trading. Platinum, however, allows you to catch both.
Showing how to obtain Darkrai in Pokemon Diamond. Darkrai is currently only obtainable through trade or through action replay code, seeing as the event for it is long over. Here is where Darkrai will be located. Once you capture him, you'll be returned to Canalave City where the sailor will ask why you were there.
Should you prefer Shaymin in Sky form, head to Route 123 in Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire and speak to a nearby family to receive the Gracidea flower, capable of the change. You can get Shaymin from 1-14 July.
2 Answers. It probably has to do with supply and demand. As of now, Pokemon Platinum is almost 10 years old, so there aren't as many copies being sold as newer games such as Sun and Moon. Therefore, the price of these “old” Pokémon games are generally higher than that of newer ones.
