The Sky Q Mini box is your gateway to viewing Sky content in other rooms. This connects to your main Sky Q box, either by Wi-Fi or via powerline networking, letting you use your electrical wiring to carry the information between boxes. Powerline networking is built-in across Sky Q devices.
However you should note that with Sky Q you can record different programmes in separate rooms at the same time. Each Sky Q Mini can view, record and play independent of the Main box.
You can have up to four Sky mini boxes at this moment in time, which happily serve you including your main Sky Q box up to five TV's, but only two can be run concurrently.
The basic cost for Sky Q Multiscreen is an additional £12 per month. This includes one free Mini box (but remember it is a loan and you may be asked to return the box at the end of your contract). Additional Sky Q Mini boxes come with a one-off fee of £99, but the monthly cost remains the same.
Sky Q experience means you can watch all the channels included in your Sky TV package in different rooms. ? Access your main box in any room with Sky Q Mini boxes, so you can watch different channels in different rooms at the same time.

- Plug the pink end of the HDMI cable into the pink port of your Sky Q Mini box and the other end into your TV.
- Plug the power cable into the blue port of your Sky Q Mini box and plug the other end into the mains.

To get Netflix for free as a Sky customer, you will need to have Sky Q and Netflix, but will only end up paying for the standard Sky Q subscription. The deal also includes Sky Entertainment and Netflix Standard (HD).
The Sky Q 2TB box also offers 12 tuners; four for recording, and five for watching live TV and streaming to up to two Sky Q Mini boxes and up to two mobile devices simultaneously.
If you have Sky Multi-Room and you're moving to SkyQ Mini
One will have been for your main Sky box and the other for your Sky Multi-Room box. When you move to SkyQ and SkyQ Mini your BT Sport channels will still be there for you on both boxes, as long as your main SkyQ box viewing card is still registered for BT Sport.With the 1TB Sky Q box, you can connect up to four Mini boxes and watch Sky on two TVs at the same time. Additionally, you'll be able to stream Sky TV, including anything you've recorded, on one device at home.
We will loan you one Sky Q box, one Sky Q Mini and any other relevant kit, for no cost, for the time you have a Sky TV subscription. 5.
To experience true multiroom, customers will need to take Sky Q Multiscreen, also known as the Sky Q experience. This will allow you to watch on an additional TV. For £12 per month, customers will receive one Sky Q Mini box with an Additional TV Viewing fee of £20 for the first box.
