Overall, Disney's Animal Kingdom is an excellent theme park that people (like me) under appreciated because it's not what we're used to experiencing. It is not perfect and it has clear room for improvement–but not necessarily any more room for improvement than Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios.
From an annual pass holder who loves AK: Animal Kingdom is a great park to visit, if you go early and only plan for a half-day excursion.
If it's Your First Time in Disney WorldIt might be a good idea to skip Animal Kingdom. Now, Animal Kingdom is awesome and home to epic rides like Pandora's Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest, but the park has the fewest classic attractions.

Yes! You can bring your own food items with you. The only restrictions are no glass containers (baby food is an exception) and no alcohol. Also, for the safety of the animals, no straws are allowed at Animal Kingdom.
When you think about it, EPCOT has all of the wondrous food of World Showcase as well as favorite attractions such as Frozen Ever After, Test Track, and Soarin'. On the other hand, Disney's Animal Kingdom is filled with culture and excitement with Kilimanjaro Safaris and fantastic stage shows.

Guests pay one fee for a parking pass good all day at all 4 theme parks—Magic Kingdom park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. You pay the parking fee regardless of what time you enter the park. There is no free parking cutoff time. If you don't want to pay you could always park at Downtown Disney and then catch a bus to the park.
