CNN was founded in 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner as a 24-hour cable news channel. The network is known for its dramatic live coverage of breaking news, some of which has drawn criticism as overly sensationalistic, and for its efforts to be nonpartisan, which have led to accusations of false balance.
CNN pays these airports to display the channel exclusively on their monitors. The network also airs air travelers-designed weather, business and travel segments, as well as entertainment programming from WarnerMedia's entertainment-formatted channels such as Cartoon Network, TCM, HBO, TruTV and TBS.
