Dovercourt Bay is a superb stretch of sandy beach and has a 'blue flag' beach award. With a promenade that stretches for miles, walking, cycling and water based activities can all be enjoyed. There are also spectacular views of Felixstowe as well as the Harwich and Languard Forts.
The beach is a short walk, 10/15 minutes. Dogs can go on part of the beach at all times. It's a great place.
Harwich today is contiguous with Dovercourt and the two, along with Parkeston, are often referred to collectively as Harwich.
