A common pet, Mesopithecus is very easy to keep fed. It will eat nearly any fruit harvested on the island. Mesopithecus is most often used as a social companion, as it cannot carry enough to be a beast of burden, is not large enough to be ridden and is not particularly good for combat.
Double pressing the F button will throw a compy, jerboa or whatever that is on your shoulder.
KO Strategy. If you happen to encounter one of these little guys in the wild and wish to tame it, Stand far enough away to be safe, Hit it with a bola, Then just pelt it until it gets knocked out. Note that while bola'd, the Microraptor will still make small, weak lunges at you.
Double tap the Y button. I believe you can also aim with the LT and then throw it with the RT (At least you can with the one little bird thingy that also sits on your shoulder when tamed).
Troodons use a unique flavor of Passive Taming. Instead of putting a Food item in your last Inventory Slot, you have to instead allow the Troodon to kill your tames. Troodons gain Taming Affinity by earning Combat Experience, with the amount required reduced to 40% at night.

Most creatures prefer Kibble made from a specific creature's eggs, combined with Fiber, Mejoberries, water (using an item such as a Waterskin), and other ingredients (usually meat or jerky and a crop).
To get berries, use bite attack. To use bite attack on mobile, change multi tap to alt attack 2 and tap with 2 fingers when riding the Therizinosaur. To get fiber, use the tickle with claws move. To use the tickle with claws move on mobile, jump when riding the Therizinosaur.
Beer Liquid can be obtained in ARK by placing 50 berries and 40 thatch in a beer barrel. It takes 6 hours for the beer liquid to be created. Once created place a Water Jar into the barrel to remove the Beer Liquid, to create a Beer Jar. Beer Jars are used as the taming "food" to passively tame a Chalicotherium.

A Level 30 Trike will need 9 Tranquilizer Arrows fired from a crossbow to the body to knock it out. When the Dinosaur is finally unconscious, you are able to place things inside its inventory. Kibble is the best food for Herbivores as of the time of writing, but Kibble can be very hard to attain.
