Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) — Public nudity is illegal in the City of Myrtle Beach, but it appeared some people have forgotten that at this year's Bikefest. Wearing thongs alone is not allowed and is considered public nudity. It's an occurrence that had some Myrtle Beach parents shielding little eyes.
Known as the "Golf capital of the World," the Grand Strand is home to over 80 golf courses.
Surfside Beach is a town in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. Its nickname is "The Family Beach". The population was 3,837 at the 2010 census, down from 4,425 in 2000. It is considered a part of the Grand Strand.
Cherry Grove has been a home away from home for many since the 1950's. The small beach town received it's name from Cherry Grove Plantation, which occupied the area in the early 1700s. In its early years, Cherry Grove was mainly gas stations, open roads and the famous “swing-bridgeâ€, which still stands today.

The Grand Strand refers to a large stretch of beaches on the coast of South Carolina, extending all the way from the fishing village of Little River to historic Georgetown. The area goes on for 60+ miles and is home to two of the most popular tourist cities in the nation – Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach.
Myrtle Beach is the mini golf capital of the world. With an incredible 60 miles of uninterrupted beach, the Myrtle Beach area is certainly grand.
The Santee Delta, located in northern Charleston and southern Georgetown counties, is the largest river delta on the East Coast and his home to many diverse plant and animal species.

The beach profile is relatively steep, and water depths are more than 6 m (20 ft) at a distance of 342 m (1125 ft) offshore of the +1 meter contour (Figure 4.3A). Along the northern Grand Strand at Waites Island, the beach system contains abundant loose sediment.
According to the Köppen climate classification, Myrtle Beach has a humid subtropical climate or Cfa – typical of the Gulf and South Atlantic states. The city enjoys abundant sunshine year-round with more than 2800 hours annually.

The South Carolina Segment of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AICW) begins in the north at Little River Inlet, SC located at (MM "340.9"), the North Carolina/South Carolina State Line. It proceeds in a generally southwesterly direction to the Savannah River and the South Carolina/Georgia State Line at (MM "575.5").
