Crows are edible. You can eat them and they won't make you sick. They taste similar to a goose, duck, or other dark meat bird. If they are prepared well, they will taste good, if not, they won't taste that great.
Crows dislike anything shiny [source: Cornell]. Many people repel crows by hanging several CDs on a string across the yard. Hang up shiny aluminum plates. This will work the same way as the CDs, and if they are hung up close enough together to make a noise, that's even better.
It's a good bet that you can step outdoors anywhere in the state and before long you hear the tell-tale cawing of a distant crow. These easy-to-identify scavengers can be one of the most challenging of all federally regulated game birds.
These two species, Common Ravens and American Crows, overlap widely throughout North America, and they look quite similar. But with a bit of practice, you can tell them apart. You probably know that ravens are larger, the size of a Red-tailed Hawk. Ravens often travel in pairs, while crows are seen in larger groups.
Blackbirds prefer to stay close to each other, so the decoys should be pretty close. Put the decoys in an open place where passing blackbirds can see them. Shoot the birds down if you don't have another option. If you're shooting around people or in city limits, you'll want to use an air rifle.

In the United States, ravens may only be lethally removed or live trapped with a permit issued by the USFWS. Occasionally, an additional permit is required from the state wildlife management agency.
