FedEx Priority Overnight®: Delivery the next business day by 10:30 a.m. to most businesses in the contiguous U.S. and by noon or 4:30 p.m. to residences and some rural areas.
The cost of FedEx Standard Overnight is dependent on location and weight, but you can expect rates to start at $29.82 for a 2 pound package.
The ideal time when Priority Overnight attempts delivery is around 10:30 AM. Whereas, First Overnight delivers around 8:30 AM, and Standard Overnight by 3:00 PM. Coming to the cost of shipping, Priority Overnight is cheaper than First Overnight but costlier than Standard Overnight.
UPS delivers overnight by 8:00 a.m. to more ZIP Codes than FedEx. With express services from UPS, you have the power to get the time-sensitive documents and packages that drive your firm's business to more places earlier than FedEx. And with multiple access points, late drop-offs are never a problem.
How late does UPS deliver? Other than time-definite air deliveries, shipments are generally delivered anytime between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (and sometimes later) to residences, and by close of business for commercial addresses. UPS cannot schedule a specific delivery time within that window.
The cutoff time for overnight shipping with most couriers is usually between 6PM and 7PM. You can use USPS over the weekends, but you'll have to pay an additional charge on Sunday deliveries. For both UPS and FedEx, only Saturday pickups and deliveries are available for an additional charge.
With the exception of early overnight delivery, FedEx shipping still has the cheaper retail rates overall, and they happen to have more services for this example. If you use Easyship, UPS still has the cheaper rates, especially if you're looking for Ground services.
We offer a money-back guarantee for every U.S. shipment. You may request a refund or credit of your shipping charges if we miss our published (or quoted, as in the case of FedEx SameDay®) delivery time by even 60 seconds. This guarantee applies to all U.S. shipments, commercial and residential, to all 50 states.

Select this option if you want to choose a date or time for FedEx to deliver your package. For FedEx Home Delivery shipments, you can enter a preferred time of day (Morning, Mid-day, Afternoon, or Late Afternoon) along with your phone number and FedEx will contact you to set a 2 hour delivery window.
Fedex Ground and Fedex Home services can deliver as early as 7am and as late as 8pm regardless of location. Fedex Custom Critical delivers as soon as they can get there, but this is a very specialized service and the customer can request a specific time if they want.
FedEx WebsiteUsing the FedEx website, you will be able to find out when your shipment is initiated, picked up, in transit, or delivered. All you need to do is go to the FedEx tracking page, input up to 30 parcel tracking numbers and hit the "Track" button to see the exact location of your package.
If you're the shipper and you want your package to arrive faster than the 2 day shipping time specified, sign in to your FedEx account or call 1.800.Go.FedEx 1.800.463.3339 to change your shipping speed.
How do I know what time my FedEx package will arrive? View the estimated delivery date on the report. Call FedEx at 1-800-463-3339 if you want to track your package by telephone.
Why? Because FedEx doesn't store packages, and the longest time in transit for a Ground package is 7 business days, and that's not between places that you can drive between in 8 hours. Once FedEx has possession of the package, they will tell you when it will be delivered based on the service level paid for.
In most cases, we will attempt to deliver your package three times before returning it to your shipper. When a FedEx courier is unable to deliver your package, he will leave a tag on your door informing you on the Air Waybill number and the next delivery attempt.
At 10pm it is extremely unlikely that it will be delivered. Most delivery companies (DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS) end their delivery day by 7 or 8pm.
