22-250 started life as a wildcat cartridge developed from the . 250-3000 Savage case necked down to take a . 220 Swift cartridge. However, it is in much wider use and has a larger variety of commercially available factory ammunition than the Swift.
They do make brakes with all the holes on top, thereby pushing the rifle down, and straight back. Love the caliber but I leave deer hunting for deer bullets and varmint hunting for varmint bullets, the 22-250 is a great varmint gun. It isn't prohibited in Wisconsin but a 6MM or 25 caliber and above make more sense for the average shooter who only shoots a couple of times a year if that much.
.22-250 Recommended Twist Rates

Since its MPBR is limited to about 125 yards, the . 22 WMR is probably the better choice for large varmints and small predators within the limit of its MPBR.
That flat based and stumpy 63 gr Sierra SMP bullet will most certainly work in your 22-250. And, since the twist is 1 in 12, just maybe it'll shoot the 64 gr Nosler Bonded Solid Base.
