Charge your pack fully before first use. Charge your LiPo battery pack at 5C or less on the LiPo setting only. You must use a balance charging system similar to the Hyperion, Hitec, or Graupner chargers offered here at MaxAmps.
If all you want is a short rule of thumb here is it – You need 25W of charge power for each LiPo cell, for a 5amp charge rate. One 2s = 50w, one 3s = 75w, two 3s at the same time (or one 6s) needs 150w, and if you want to charge 2 6s at the same time, plan on at least 300w. Why 25w per cell, and why 5amp charge rates?

Probably has a 3000 mah battery I'm guessing. Your get around 15-20 minutes run time. Just my 2 cents if your looking for longer run times later down the road switch to lipo and get something 5000 mah or larger. With my vxl system and a 5000 mah battery I get about 45 minutes run time.
You are free to increase the voltage of the battery you use in your RC, but you need to make sure that that voltage is within the limits of the range specified by your user manual. If you neglect to check this, you may damage your RC vehicle beyond repair.
If your RC battery is swollen or has less than 80% capacity then it is considered to have gone bad. You can still use a NiMH battery that is below 80% without any issues besides shorter run time but once a battery has started to swell up it should not be used ever again.

A 1000 mAH battery bearing a load of 500 mAH will last for about 2 hours. Similarly, if your load is 2000 mAH then it would only last for 30 minutes. A 5000 mAH battery is quoted to last for about 20-25 minutes depending on the driving speed and your driving habits.

You can use any charger you like so long as it does not supply over 14.8 volts, however the charger might suffer damage if it is not capable of controlling the amperage delivered. In theory, you can leave the Battery Tender® Plus battery charger connected to a battery forever. That's a really long time.
