Strength (Japanese: ???? Super Strength) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation I. It was HM04 in Generations I through VI. In Generation VII, it was the signature move of Machamp.
You can't get through Seafoam Island unless you have a Pokémon that knows Strength. So remember to bring it. This underground maze looks mighty confusing, but it's actually not that bad. The idea is to use your Strength ability to move boulders out of the way and drop them into holes in the floor.
HM04 is a HM introduced in Generation I. As a HM, the move it teaches can be used in battle and outside of battle, however, with the exception of Generation V, in order to use the move outside of battle, a certain gym badge is required. In all generations, HM04 is Strength.

The Rare Candy appears in the majority of Pokémon games. It is used to increase the level of any Pokémon by 1, thus saving the trainer from having to battle to raise their Pokémon's level. They can earn the level attack that they can learn at that level also.
A glitch in Pokemon Yellow allows you to get 99 Rare Candies, which will raise a Pokemon's level by one. You can take advantage of this glitch without having to use a GameShark or Action Replay. All you need is to have a Rare Candy as the 6th item in your Items pouch.
