The classic single ticket is the right ticket for you, if you want to use the public transport rarely. With the single ticket you can e.g. take a ride on a TMB city bus or use the metro. The current price (2021) for the single ticket is EUR 2.40. You can buy it at the ticket vending machines.

The RENFE train service runs approximately every 30 minutes to and from Barcelona airport to the city centre. Travel time approximately 25 minutes. You can catch the train from Clot, Passeig de Gràcia , or Barcelona Sants (otherwise known as Sants Estació) The name of the stop you want for the airport is Aeropuerto.

Classes & CostsTickets for AVE trains are by far the most expensive. A one-way trip in 2nd class from Madrid to Barcelona (on which route only AVE trains run) could cost as much as €108 (it could work out significantly cheaper if you book well in advance).
Travelling by trainThe best way to travel long distances in Spain is to book the high-speed train or AVE (Alta Velocidad) which run between most major cities. A train ride from Barcelona to Madrid covers some 500km (311 miles) in just 2hrs 40 minutes, while a train from Madrid to Seville takes around the same time.

Here in Barcelona, the most popular way to get around town is via metro. Operated by TMB (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona), locals tend to prefer the metro for its easy-to-use system, low fares, and frequency of trains.
Its really easy getting the train from Santa Susanna, takes about an hour and goes along the coast so sea view most of the way. It cost about 33 euros return for 2 adults and 2 children, got off at Playa de Catalunya, which is where you can get on a tourist bus easily or wander about.
The T-Mobilitat travelcard will be a contactless and reusable device. The card will have a smart chip incorporated into the card that enables the more advanced and intelligent features of the card over a regular ticket. The T-Mobilitat travelcard will be valid for public transport for the entire Catalunya region.
How to Ride Metro Rail
- Get to your station. Arrive 10 minutes early and wait for your train to arrive.
- Pay with TAP. Buy a TAP card and load fare at the TAP vending machine.
- Board the Train. Wait for train to make a complete stop and stand behind the yellow line.

How much is the taxi fare in Barcelona? The basic fee is €2.15, the kilometer price is €1.13. For standing and waiting time, €22.10 is charged per hour.
If you prefer neighbourhood living, then the northern district of Gràcia is the best place to stay in Barcelona. It still retains a genuine small-town atmosphere and, unlike some districts in the city, has a real soul. The area is still very much the liberal, almost bohemian, stronghold it was in the 19th century.

The AVE is the high-speed train service in Spain. With most services running from Madrid (and a few going north from Barcelona), you can now reach Seville, Valencia, Malaga, and Cordoba (as well as travel between Madrid and Barcelona) quicker than you could fly.
In the end, the pass is worth it. Once you complete the purchase, you will receive an electronic pass that can be printed to use during your trip. There is a second Renfe site where you can book (it's a mystery why).
