Short track speed skating
Longer distance skaters tend to be slightly taller than the sprinters. The average size in men's speed skating is 5'9" and 161 pounds but there are six inches and 53 pounds separating the smallest and biggest athlete on the team.According to the NBC Olympics page, most speed skaters wear some kind of eyewear to stop their eyes from tearing up due to the wind. Plus, even though they are competing indoors, the glare of the lights off the ice can be intense, so eyewear helps with visibility.
According to the official Olympic website, short track speed skaters typically go as fast as 31 mph. And according to the Washington Post, long track speed skaters can go as fast as 35 mph.
As you do, sweep your left leg behind you while bringing your left arm across your body. Then, step to the left, bringing your right leg behind you and your right arm across your body. Continue alternating sides, building up speed, for 20-40 seconds, depending on your fitness level.
In the only non-individual competition form, the team pursuit, two teams of each three to four skaters are allowed to race at once. Both teams remain in the inner lane for the duration of the race; they start on opposite sides of the rink. If four skaters are racing one skater is allowed to drop off and stop racing.

The level III player should perform three listed spins and three listed jumps to be scored. For level IV, skaters must attempt a combination of jumps and spins with skills for a maximum time limit of three minutes. For roller skating free style events, pairs can have their own music selection.
You've probably noticed that speedskaters use skates with blades that are longer than those used by figure skaters or hockey players. Speedskating blades are 1.1mm thick, and their longer length allows them to go faster on the ice. This makes it so the blade stays on the ice longer, thus increasing their pushing power.
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, duos, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games, when it was contested at the 1908 Olympics in London. The four Olympic disciplines are men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance.
In short track speed skating, skaters race each other around a 111.12 meter oval track (the size of a hockey rink). They race several heats in groups of 4-6 skaters at a time. The first two athletes to cross the finish line move on the next round until the field is narrowed to just the top four athletes.
