Walmart apparently does NOT accept mobile wallet payment systems. However, Samsung uses a hack (a very insecure one) to emulate a magstripe card transaction. For the Walmart's POS terminal, Samsung looks like an ordinary credit card with the old-school, last-century magnetic stripe.
Reset the Samsung Pay app on the phone
- Open Samsung Pay Framework. Navigate to and open Settings, and then tap Apps.
- Force stop the app. Tap Force stop, and then tap OK to confirm.
- Clear the app's cache. Next, tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache.
- Open the app's info screen. Tap Manage storage.
- Clear the app's data.
Note: Samsung Pay is only available on select phone and watch models. To use Samsung Pay on your smart watch with a non-Samsung phone, you must update to Android 6.0 or higher.
Samsung Pay doesn't use NFC so it won't turn it on nor does it need to.
Open the Samsung Pay app on your phone and locate your Samsung Pay Cash Account. Tap Add money and then tap Bank transfer. Under Bank transfer, you can find your routing number and account number.
If you don't already have a Samsung phone, Samsung Pay isn't a good reason to buy one. The proliferation of NFC technology means you'll get plenty of use out of Google Pay, and Samsung has dropped the MST tech from its latest phones. Even if you do have a Samsung phone, Samsung Pay might not be worth your time.
To reset the app, navigate to your phone's Settings. Swipe to and tap Apps, and then select Samsung Pay. Tap Force stop, and then tap Storage. Tap Clear cache, and then tap Clear data.
Samsung Pay does not charge users additional fees for utilizing the app.
Samsung Pay is compatible with Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 edge+, Note 5, Galaxy A8+, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), A5 (2016), A7 (2016), Galaxy A9 Pro and Galaxy J7 Pro.
To get started, navigate to and open Samsung Pay on your phone. Tap Menu in the top left corner, and then tap Cards. Next, tap Add card (blue +card icon), and then tap Add credit/debit card. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your card.
When you're ready to pay, open Samsung Pay on your phone. Tap Pay, and select your preferred card. Tap PIN or IRIS, and then enter the required security information. Or if you have fingerprint security set up, simply place your finger on your phone's fingerprint scanner.
Samsung claims that its system will work with almost all point-of-sale systems: NFC, magnetic stripe and EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) terminals for chip-based cards. It generally won't work with readers where you need to physically insert your card into a slot, such as those found at gas stations or on ATMs.
Update: The Gear S3 is compatible with both Android and iPhone (using iOS 9.0 or later), but critically important is that Samsung Pay will not work with iPhones. As long as you can load the Samsung Gear app from your app store, you should be able to use the Gear S3 Frontier and Samsung Pay.
How to remove Samsung Pay from your Galaxy phone
- Press and hold the Samsung Pay icon in your app drawer until a menu appears.
- Tap Uninstall.
- Tap OK to confirm you want to uninstall this app. Source: Android Central.
Verify a payment card laterWhen you are ready to verify, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. Navigate to and tap Samsung Pay, and then tap Credit/debit cards. Next, tap OK inside the black Verify card icon. Now you can verify the card using the same methods mentioned above.
If there's a problem with one payment method you can try paying with a different one.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store app .
- Go back to the item you want to buy & tap the price.
- Tap the current payment method.
- Choose a different payment method or add a new one.
Credit card payments on Shopee are subjected to all transaction processing rules imposed by card schemes (e.g. Mastercard, Visa, etc.). If your payment could not proceed, please check with your bank or reinstall the application.
A Declined transaction response refers to the declination of a credit card that is being used as a payment method. There are several reasons that a card may be declined and these include there being insufficient funds in the account, the card not being activated, or the card is stolen or canceled.
Why Was My ReliaCard Rejected? The ReliaCard comes with a security feature to prevent unauthorized use. If you attempt three transactions and those are rejected, the card will automatically block itself to prevent further use until you call Customer Service to have them unblock it.
There are a number of possible reasons why a purchase could be declined: You don't have enough money left on your card. You haven't activated or registered your card. The address you gave to make an online or phone purchase is different from the address you have on file with your prepaid card provider.

Entering any information incorrectly when using your debit card can make your card get declined. This mostly happens when making online purchases. Most merchants request you to enter some personal details, including the name on the card or your address. When shopping online, you may be required to enter your zip code.

In the Samsung Pay app, you can now earn cash back when you buy something from select merchants. To find the latest cash back offers, open Samsung Pay. From the Home tab, tap the Deals tab, and then tap CASH BACK at the top of the page.
Many retailers that are set up to accept Samsung Pay as a payment method have a sticker on their terminal. This makes it easy to tell at a glance if Samsung Pay is accepted, although in some locations it will work even if it isn't indicated.
Aside from asking where can I use Samsung Pay, it's also important to know where you can't use it. Generally, if the store's payment terminal requires you to insert or swipe your credit or debit card, Samsung Pay won't work. This is why you can't use it at ATMs and gas station pumps.
Walmart Pay doesn't use near-field communication (NFC). Instead, our customers use their smartphones to scan a secure QR code displayed on the same PIN pads at checkout that are being used now. A customer's scan sends a signal to Walmart's server that it is okay to use Walmart Pay for that particular purchase.
Shoppers who have mobile payment set up in their iPhone, Samsung Galaxy phone or Android phone or wearable devices will be able to hold their device near the card reader at checkout to complete their purchase. Those using contactless credit or debit cards will tap their contactless card on the reader screen to pay.
McDonald's announced on Tuesday that it now accepts Softcard for NFC-based mobile payments on Android at its restaurants across the United States. The fast food chain already accepts Google Wallet at McDonald's locations where payment terminals support the MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave contactless systems.
Soft declines are rejections of credit card authorizations from the issuing banks for online orders due to generic issuer errors such as server timeout or issuer unavailability. They occur when Walmart's backend system starts sending payment attempts to payment gateways.
