Use the mobile app instead.
- Download the Roku app. Acquire the app for Windows, Android or iOS, and link it with your Roku. (Both devices will need to be on the same wireless network.)
- Tap "Remote." The mobile app remote can do everything a remote control can do, and in some cases, even more.
Double-check the email address linked to your Roku device.
- Press the Home button. on your Roku remote.
- Scroll up or down and select Settings.
- Select System.
- Select About to view the email address.
Well, before we get started, it should be clear that Roku does not involve any payment for account activation or installation of device. It asks for your billing details, in case you want to see paid channels in the future. The activation is free but entering your billing details is mandatory.

Creating a US Roku Account
- Go to
- Click the link to sign in.
- Go to 'Create Account'.
- 'Step 1' - You need to fill in the email address you want to use and the password for the Roku account.
- 'Step 2' - Enter a PIN to authorise purchases on the Roku store.
- 'Step 3' - The Roku is now asking for billing information.
- Make sure you are logged into your Roku account.
- Connect your Roku to your TV and turn the Roku on.
- Enter this code on the web page from Step 1 and click the Submit button.
- Now you need to select channels to add to your Roku.
- You are now done linking your Roku to your account.
Managing a subscription from the web
- Go to my.roku.com on your computer or smartphone.
- If prompted, sign in to your Roku account.
- Click or tap Manage your subscriptions.
- After the My subscriptions page loads, you will see all subscriptions billed by Roku, along with terms and renewal date.
Go to the Settings option.
Select the System option and then choose the Power option. Under that, tap the Auto Power Off option. Your Roku device will turn off automatically in 30 seconds. If you want to power it off right away, then you can press the Power Off option.Originally called Auto Sign Out Mode, Guest Mode lets you provide your guests with a completely fresh Roku experience that they can either use as-is or make their own by signing into their personal Roku accounts.
No worries! You can unlink your player over at roku.com. Unlinking the player from your account will prompt the new owner to create a new user account and authorize channels.
Assuming an Android phone or tablet, tap the Apps square then scroll through to Settings. Go to More then Application Manager and clear the Caché, delete all data, untick Show notifications then tap Force Stop and finally Uninstall.
To change your Roku account email address or password:
- Go to my.roku.com on your computer or smartphone.
- If prompted, sign in to your Roku account.
- Under the Account Information section, click or tap the Update button.
- After making any changes, select Save Changes.
Login into your Roku Account. Go to the Player section to get the Roku link code. Open roku(dot)com/link on your mobile or laptop browser and paste the roku link code there. (See the image below)
Today hundreds of Roku channels are free including YouTube, Pandora, PBS, PBS Kids, Hasbro, Crackle, VEVO, CrunchyRoll, Baeble, Popcornflix, Smithsonian and much more. As you may expect, on some channels you might need to sit through an ad here or there.
If your Roku is frozen, you can perform a system restart by following these steps using your remote:
- Press the Home button 5 times.
- Press the Up arrow once.
- Press the Rewind button twice.
- Press the Fast Forward button twice.
- The restart will begin, though it may take a few seconds.
"Go to the Home Screen, select a channel you want to remove and press the * button on your remote. then. Select "Remove channel" and press "OK" on your remote to remove that channel from your Roku. Repeat this procedure for any additional channels you'd like to remove."
